F1 DFS Strategy & Analysis - 2022 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix

F1 is back this weekend with the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola, Italy, and it offers a unique setup for our DFS tournaments. It’s a Sprint Race weekend

If you’re unfamiliar, here’s a quick look into the format of a Sprint Race as opposed to a traditional F1 weekend. While the race is still Sunday, Qualifying moves to Friday, and we introduce a sprint race on Saturday. They drop one practice session from the schedule to incorporate it. Qualifying determines the order of the sprint, and then the drivers participate in the sprint on Saturday which is a mini version of the normal race, but 1/3 the distance, so there’s no pitting.

Drivers do receive points for results in this sprint, although a smaller amount than the race on Sunday. You’ll find that the sprint format draws a lot of frustration amongst F1 fans, but for us DFS players, it does offer at least a little extra insight into the race performance of all the cars.
