Lot of injuries out there tonight and with the All Star break only a couple of days away, I’m guessing teams will be very cautious in bringing back some those guys who are banged up. Looks like there is going to be sleeper opportunities with the Celtics, Hawks, and T-Wolves. Best of luck and here are some picks for tonight. Read More

Happy Tuesday everyone! We only have 3 more days of games until the dreaded All-Star break where we won’t have daily fantasy basketball for 5 days. Talk about torture. I used to get excited about All-Star weekend, but now because of daily fantasy sports I would much rather watch a regular season Nets and Bucks game. (Read More)

  • NBA Tipps: NBA All-Star Week Bargains

    alt

We’re already half way through the season and the NBA All-Star game is coming up this weekend. There’s only four days of fantasy basketball this week and you definitely want to be careful out there Wednesday and Thursday just in case any coaches get the bright idea of giving some of the stars an extra day or two of rest by holding them out in this last game before the break. I’m not positive it will happen that much, but it’s just something to watch out for. I’ve got a handful of guys who could put up solid lines this week at reasonable salaries, so hopefully you can fill your roster around them with studs. (Read More)

Happy Presidents Day! The NBA kicks off with a 4pm game with Chicago & Atlanta and has 10 more games on the schedule after that. Good chance Derrick Rose and Carmelo Anthony may see the court for the first time in a while today. It will be interesting to see if Melo changes the statistical output of Lin or if his incredible run continues. (Read More)

Sunday has a full slate of games which means lots of different options at each position. Today these picks will be based on Draftstreet salaries, but the players should also still be good plays on other daily fantasy sites depending on their salaries. Here are today’s plays: (Read More)

This Saturday we have four games on the schedule, so there is a shallower player pool to select from than usual. There’s also a 3:30 start-time which adds some risk/reward dynamic to the players you pick based on what injury information is available prior to tip-off. Two days ago Danny Granger decided to play last-minute, and helped those that played him win some of the GPPs. Last night, DeMarcus Cousins was a great risk-reward player that most of the field didn’t have. Here are some picks to keep your eye on today: (Read More)

Welcome back to another week of the Grinder Leaderboard and Rankings Update. We have reached the time in the year where there are two major focuses in the sports world, hockey and basketball. Yes there are PGA events out there for DFS gamblers, but those aren’t daily like the NHL, NBA and CBB games. So what we are seeing in the rankings is a derivative of the success that these players have in those three fields. Unlike December and January, where the sports world was running rampant and players were moving up and down the board like crazy, there is a time of peace where we can see who the true experts of basketball and hockey really are. So let’s jump into some headlines, shout outs and general info about the rankings this week. (Read More)

11 games on the schedule for Friday night and there should be major Guaranteed Prize Pool tournaments on most of the Daily Fantasy sites this evening. A few fantasy storylines for the night include “Linsanity” returning tonight in New York and one of the best frontcourt duo’s in the NBA faces one of the leagues worst teams defending the post. Here are tonight’s picks and value plays. (Read More)

This Thursday we have three games on the schedule, so there is a shallower player pool to select from than usual. While there is certain to be a little overlap in your opponents lineups today, there are enough options available to present you with some challenging choices today. Make the right ones…you win. Make the wrong ones, well let’s not let that happen. Here are RG’s picks for today. (Read More)

  • NHL Thursday: Defensive DraftStreet Picks

    alt

If you’ve been playing fantasy hockey on Draftstreet for very long, you’re likely aware that it’s a common strategy to underspend on defense in order to save cap space for the more lucrative positions. On average, a defenseman will give you half the value of a forward, so it only makes sense to budget accordingly. The problem is that you still have to fill those spots, and you don’t want to completely write off the position. This week, I’ll highlight some of best bargains on defense that will barely register in terms of cap hits. I’ll also highlight a few exceptional defensemen that are worth taking a chance and spending a little more on when setting your lineup. (Read More)

A ton of games on tap tonight in the NBA, but clearly all eyes are on the Knicks and Kings tonight. I’m excluding Lin tonight because he as been an obviously play everywhere but Draftstreet (which has his salary where it should be). There are handful of value plays tonight, so best of luck in your games tonight. (Read More)

Welcome to the daily plays, if you managed to put a decent team together last night, then you probably ended up winning most of your leagues because last night was not a great scoring night for many of the star players. For tonight’s games, we have gone through and picked the very best players for each position, check it out: (Read More)

alt It seems like every night the Warriors play either Monta or Curry will go off, but it’s always only one of the two. Monta had the big night last night, and Curry has the matchup against Nash tonight so I think its Curry’s turn to have a big night. Nash just doesn’t have the lateral quickness that he used to have and he has been giving up big games to opposing PG’s all season. (Read More)
  • Monday Tipps: 25 Bargain Options for Week 8

It’s week 8 in the NBA and the bargain bin is overflowing right now as the injuries start to pile up for every NBA team. I’ve put together a list of low to midrange salary players who could see solid minutes this week, which could allow you to cheaply plug some holes in your roster so you have enough salary to load up on superstars. We’ve only got 4 late games on Sunday in the NBA and they all look like they should be pretty competitive. A lot of the usual suspects like Lin, Gooden, Sessions and Pekovic have the night off so we may need to dig a bit deeper than normal for some solid value plays. Here is what I’m rolling with this evening. (Read More)

We’ve got eight games of NBA action scheduled for tonight, highlighted by Lin-Sanity heading to Minnesota to take on the T-Wolves. After a battle with the Black Mamba, Lin came out unscathed with his highest fantasy point total yet (47 on FD). One would think that Lin should have no trouble replicating that performance against a far from intimidating T-Wolves backcourt featuring Ricky Rubio and Luke Ridnour. But now his price is rising: Jumping up to $6k on FD and $13.5k on DS. With that price increase, you might need to shop around for some other picks today…here are our top choices: (Read More)

  • SoJerseyHustler Catapults Up The Grinder Leaderboard

    alt

Let’s start off the shout outs from the past seven days with a big shout out to the headliner of the week. Sojerseyhustler has used a plethora of double-up success on Fanduel to climb the board and win the big bucks. He went from being outside the top 100 last week to standing in 29th place overall this week, an absolutely incredible move. Great work to our headlining player this week. Beware of Sojerseyhustler and keep a look out to see if he continues his climb in the weeks coming up. (Read More)

Full load of games in the NBA tonight, but beware of the likely blowouts in the Miami v. Washington & Chicago v. Charlotte games. Good chance LeBron, Wade, Rose & Deng might only go three quarters tonight. Lots of eyes are going to be on the Knicks to see if “Linsanity” continues tonight, and the return of Kevin Love may mean a few less minutes for good value plays the last couple days (Derrick Williams & Michael Beasley). Here is the run down of Friday nights NBA plays. (Read More)

  • NHL Thursday: DraftStreet's New Snake Drafts and Picks for Tonight

    alt

This past week, Draftstreet opened up a whole new style of play for daily hockey with the snake draft format. While the roster positions and scoring system remain virtually the same, the strategy is completely different than traditional salary cap based contests. A host of variables can alter your draft strategy, including how many games are being played that night, how many opponents you have, and how certain you are of starting goalies at the time of your draft. As is usual in the NBA, Thursday is a bit slower than most nights. We only have four games on the schedule tonight, but the 8 teams playing are all fantasy relevant, making for an above average player pool to choose from before tip-off on TNT. First we have a rematch of the 2008 NBA Finals, with the rosters only slightly adjusted when the Lakers square off vs. the Celtics. Then the next 3 games feature Phoenix, Golden State and Sacramento who are all notorious for their swiss-cheese defense. Here are our top picks for this better-than-usual Thursday night. (Read More)
