Describing the NFL Daily Research Tools

For many of the statistics-based pages, 2011 stats are currently shown. These will be switched over to 2012 updated figures as soon as Week 1 has concluded

Player Projections (Incentives Only)

Exclusive Player Projections for all NFL players. These projections are site-specific, meaning they are based on the scoring system for each individual site. These projections are based on player statistics, advanced statistics and opponent strength of schedule. You can sort each page by player salary, projected points, and $$ per fantasy point projected.

Expert Lineups are hand-made lineups from a group of RotoGrinders experts who are well-versed in the nuances of each daily fantasy site. Each week, our experts will post lineups based on their own research to show to our viewers. These lineups will be available for each daily fantasy site on the daily research console.

Algorithm Projected Lineup

The Algorithm Projected Lineup is built based on our player projections for each week during the NFL season. Our database will find all possible combinations of players that fit the salary cap for each daily fantasy site and provide the lineup with the most projected points. These lineups will show you the player name, player salary and their value-added. Value-added is calculated by their projected total above the average salary for that player’s position.

Last Week’s Optimal Lineup

Last Week’s Optimal Lineup is a tool that shows the best lineup that could have been made the week prior. These lineups are available for each daily fantasy site listed on the daily research console and are fitted to their salary structures and scoring formats.

We know that it can be a drag to choose players that are rarely talked about, but these picks can be the difference between winning and losing. The page is broken up by defenses and kickers into two pages for each.

NOTE: Kicker stats and price analysis will be available starting Week 2 of the NFL season

Matchup Notes Page

This is a page built to give you a break from the slew of statistics you study each week and give you some essential notes for each game. These notes will include player matchup thoughts, injury and suspension updates, split statistics, historic statistics, and miscellaneous fun facts. This is a text-based page that will be easy to read through and better understand all the important information for each match-up!

Market Watch Page

This tool will show you pricing changes for players week-by-week for all the major sites Ever wonder which players value plummeted from a bad performance the week before? Just check out this page. You can also see who is sky-rocketing from a big game and might no longer be worth the investment. For Week 1, these will be calculated based on the last week of the 2011 NFL Season and Week 1 2012 salaries. Last, you can sort by the average salary change across all three of these sites.

You can also see the spread for each game along with projected points. Any projected total over 47.5 are in bold which shows a game that is expected to be high-scoring. The last column is the projected score column. This column is made by combining the over/under projected points line and the spread to find an expected score for each team.

Site Scoring Comparison Page

This page shows you the scoring systems for each daily fantasy site. The Site Scoring Comparison tool allows you to compare scoring systems and better understand where value lies for each site. Along with the scoring comparisons, there are a number of examples of fantasy outputs for each offensive position to show you how many fantasy points each site would yield based on the example statistics.
