Rise & Grind: April 23rd, 2014
Welcome to the RotoGrinders cup o’morning joe. Start your day off on the right foot with yesterday’s happenings and take a peek at the the upcoming day in the world of DFS.
So kick back, grab your first cup of coffee, and catch up on the latest news!
In Case You Missed It
- Back to Back Qualifiers – Just one day after taking down the $109 DFBC Qualifier, rayofhope came back with an incredible follow up to take down the $535 Qualifier as well! He is now the first player in the DFBC with multiple seats to the final event, and therefore multiple chances at the one million dollar first place prize. Good show sir! While rayofhope deserves all the credit in the world, it was a bit of a let down for a few Grinders. Dinkpiece, Al_Smizzle, and McJester were all within 1.75 points or less of taking it down, and Smizz had a few chances at the end to take it home. It’s disappointing, but I have zero doubts that all three of these guys will get their seats in due time.
- Another Grinder to Atlantis – Over on DraftKings, Grinder bh9999 took down the fourth Legend Series Qualifier last night. He got 83.8 of his 178.8 points from his pitchers, which played a huge role in his success. The top of the standings were once again packed with Grinders members, with PrimeTime420, ChefPwnSauce, SportsWiseGuy, and tommygmets86 rounding out the top 5.
- Al’s Arcade Challenge – This isn’t exactly major news, but I love the idea and want to point it out in case you missed it. Multi entry contests are often a hot topic of debate on our forums. A lot of people believe that if your bankroll is big enough you can just enter a bunch of lineups and win all the money. So, to test that theory, Al has challenged the community to enter 20 lineups a day into the DK Quarter Arcade and compare how you do. Check out the post here to join in on the fun. If anything it should be a fun experiment.
Today’s Events
- Tonight’s Action – There is a full game in MLB again today, but not all of them are night games. The Giants and Rockies continue their series today in the early slate starting at 3:10 Eastern time. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that it will be a great game to target today. There are three games in both the NBA and NHL playoffs tonight, just enough to warrant some DFS games. So if you’re looking for your fix, get those in while you still can.
- Today’s GPP’s – I feel like FanDuel has a DFBC qualifier every day lately. Not that I’m complaining, because they’re great to follow, but the $270 qualifier runs for the late games tonight. It caps at 195 entries, so it’s a great chance to have a pretty decent shot at a trip to Vegas if you have the bankroll for it. DraftKings is running a $100k Perfect Game with $25,000 to first place, as well as a $30k NBA Crossover, with the top 30 players taking home a G. And of course we can’t forget the standard $10 MLB GPPs running on DraftStreet.
