The New Grinders Rankings Leaderboard
Here at RotoGrinders, we work hard to ensure that all of the exciting perks we offer are running at their maximum potential. We recently asked you how we were doing and saw one area that we felt had room for improvement. We have decided to implement a new rankings system. The recognition from the rankings are one of the biggest reasons people come to us. The new rankings formula will still capture the best daily fantasy players. It is simply a new and improved version of the prior formula. These changes reflect the true skill level of players by better rewarding them for being able to win across multiple sports and sites. With the NBA fantasy season coming to a halt, there is no better time to make this transition. Below is a brief explanation of some of the formula changes we have made.
The Base Formula
The first change to the rankings formula comes from the basic formula used to calculate your GLB score. The previous rankings formula went as follows for each game you won money in:
Old Base Formula
[Total Winnings] – [Buy In] = Base Score
The new formula divides that formula of old by 10 and lowers the overall grinders scores you will see. This change was made to increase our efficiency.
New Base Formula
[Total Winnings] – [Buy In] / 10 = New Base Score
Site and Skill Bonuses
Another key change to our rankings formula is the manner in which we calculate site and skill bonuses. The previous formula added bonuses for playing on different sites and for playing different sports on a linear scale. The new formula applies a bonus on a scale of 10-110% to better reward players for being able to win in multiple fantasy seasons and on multiple daily fantasy sites. The specific formula is below:

(1-[Diversity Points for Each Site and Sport] / [Total Points])
Every site offers a unique scoring format and roster set-up that makes picking a winning lineup challenging. A players’ to adjust and remain successful across these sites and sports shows true talent, and thus we have found a formula that better rewards you in our rankings.
Below we have the Top-25 Grinders atop your inaugural improved leaderboard. Next week we will return to a normal rankings update with the biggest movers and shakers of the week.
