Weekly Rankings Update

Welcome, Grinders, to the Weekly Rankings Update! I feel like I say this every week now, but what an exciting week for the world of Daily Fantasy Sports. We already have two championship tournaments that will make someone a millionaire playing DFS baseball (still blows my mind). But if those weren’t enough, FanDuel and DraftKings have both introduced $100k+ tournaments that have been running (and mostly filling) at a pretty consistent basis.

The potential in this industry is absolutely incredible, and I have a feeling we’re just getting started. All of these tournaments should provide plenty of opportunites for people to move up the RotoGrinders rankings, and this week was a prime example of that.

I’m not gonna lie, I had quite a bit of fun writing the update this week, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Here we go!

Wow. There was a crazy amount of movement in the top 100 this week!

There was so much going on here that it’s hard to pin down just a few things, but a couple guys in particular stick out to me:

• crackmonkey83 – In my humble opinion, crack is one of the most underrated Grinders out there. This guy doesn’t play the massive volume that you see a lot of other guys playing, but the bottom line is he’s as solid as the come. I talked to him quite a bit during basketball season and I could always count on him for solid advice. It’s really great to see him doing so well.

• Poohdini – Holy cow, where did this guy come from?? I’ll be honest, I don’t really know anything about him (sorry man!) but it’s not all that often that you see a guy move up more than 3-5 spots in just one week. So when I saw that he jumped up 15 spots I all like “Say whaaa??” Tip o’ the hat to you my friend.

McJester still holds a pretty hefty lead at the moment, and I’m sure that lead will only increase with another incredible performance in the FanDuel Slam last night. I’m sure he’s sad to see the NBA season come to a close, but I have a feeling we haven’t seen the last of this guy.

So while searching (unsucessfully I might add) for a Stephen Colbert “tip o’ the hat” gif, I stumbled upon some pretty awesome presidential-themed gifs/images. So with that in mind, McJester is owning the TPOY Leaderboard harder than McCain gets owned in this week’s first gif:

A lot of the usual suspects here, as we’d expect at this point in the season. It’s still only a few weeks in though, so of course it’s anyone’s game. I expect we’ll see the Smizz and Mike Leone move up a few spots next week with their recent domination the past two nights.

I don’t really have a tie in for this next one, but it does fit with the recent MTG discussion that we had on the forums. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the President of the United States of America!

The lead that Condia has in this race is absolutely incredible. He has three times the score of the second place guy! There is also a pretty sizable gap between the second place spot, TROLL4MVP, and third (dinkpiece), but after that it’s pretty tight.

This will likely be the last relevant week of NBA Leaderboard updates, and we’re sorry to see it go. Not quite as sorry as this guy was though…

I’m very interested to see how the rest of this month goes. Condia has a decent lead at this point, but with the NBA season wrapping up, it should leave a pretty good window for ehafner to sneak into that top spot.

Perhaps Condia can try a couple old Mario Kart tricks to keep his lead, but sadly they don’t seem to be as effective in real life.

Some times I wonder how many people open this article and just scroll to the bottom looking for the hot girl gif. I’d set the over/under at about 75%, but I’ll take it!
