  • Top 10 Rankings Movement and Special Grinders Shoutout

    alt

At last we had a week to take a deep breath and relax for a minute. In the past month we’ve had NFL, NHL, NBA, NCAAF, and PGA as playable fantasy games and there has been a plethora of winning and losing for Grinder Nation. Finally, with the all-star break keeping players and gamblers away from the ice and the NFL fantasy season being completely over, there was a week of peace with only NBA and a little PGA play available. What does this mean for our Grinder Leaderboard? Read More

  • Daily Joust Introduces NBA Solo Survivor Tournaments

    alt

It’s awesome to see the Daily Fantasy Sports industry continue to grow and innovate. Joust just unveiled a new game format this week, and it’s pretty sweet. It’s called the NBA Solo Survivor Tournament, and I haven’t heard of anything quite like this before. It’s a multi-day contest consisting of individual solo contests, a game-variety where you set a lineup vs. a set amount of points as opposed to an opposing lineup. Win a Solo contest by January 31st and you’re in the Survivor Tournament. Everyone who qualifies then enters an all-out survival battle until only one man is left standing. (Read More)

  • Rudzia55 Takes the #1 Spot!

    alt

Rudzia55 has surpassed Condia to take over the first overall place in the rankings. Condia has held a magnificent run in the top spot, yet Rudzia55 edges him out this week ever so slightly to take the throne. Just a month ago that didn’t seem possible but by having the best Monthly GLB Rudzia55 was able to displace the dominance of Condia. With that said, the race is still tight and with the level that these two guys play at, don’t be surprised if Condia reclaims his lead next week. Should be an interesting battle! (Read More)

  • Weekly Grinder Rankings Update: Jan 21, 2012

    alt

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times; each week various members of Grinder Nation shock the leader boards. This week that member of Grinder Nation was Blitzburgh who threw himself a [re-]welcoming party to the top 100 by jumping all the way to #24 with some newly-found FanDuel results to go with his impressive work on DraftZone. Previous weeks had seen players move into the #50-#60 range when entering the Top 100, but Blitzburgh, a previous Top 10-er from about a year ago, jumped all the way to 24th. (Read More)

  • Maxdalury Leaps to #7: Weekly Rankings Update Jan 13th, 2012

    alt

Golf kicked off and while that is not my personal area of expertise, I’m sure its return brought back a plethora of new and talented players. The college football season finished up and congrats to the Alabama Crimson Tide as well as its fans! NHL keeps rolling along with NBA and the NFL season has come down to its final week of competitive fantasy sports betting.

I can’t even get to the recognition part without mentioning the accomplishments of Maxdalury who’s success has pushed him up 7 spots overall on the GLB board to stand at 7th overall in Grinder Nation. All I can really say is wow, as Maxdalury utilized his unbelievable NFL knowledge to win big and jump up the standings. Great job to him. (Read More)

Rotogrinders members either weren’t interested in the NFL Playoffs or just couldn’t find the right combination of players because there weren’t many Grinders near the top of the large field leaderboards this weekend. Best performance of the week probably goes to jl9000 who took 3rd in 4th in the $8k guaranteed Bomb on FanDuel. (Read More)

  • Condia Favorite To Lead/Win Overall, Monthly and NFL Seasonal Rankings

    alt

One thing I have learned in my brief stint here is that apparently challenging the Grinders leads to big things! Last week I mentioned how the top 5 had remained stagnant for a couple weeks and dared someone to try and mix it up. Apparently I woke a sleeping giant as Beermakersfan pushed up a spot to #4. While this one spot jump doesn’t sound glamorous, moving up in the top 5 is a tremendous task and for that, Beermakersfan, we salute you. Also, I’m pretty sure my open fanfare for Westy last week lit a fire under Primetime420 as he surged back up a spot to reclaim #8 overall. (Read More)

  • Fanduel's Optimal (Perfect) Lineup For Week 14

    alt

Every Sunday when I’m sitting there watching all the games, I can’t help but play the “what if” game. Not only does it make me feel much better about my team in the current week but it also makes it even harder to make a team the next week. Every time a TD is scored by a player that’s not on my team, my brain immediately goes into the “you idiot, why didn’t you pick that guy” mode. It happens without fail every single week. (Read More)

  • 2011 FFFC Trip Report

    alt

FFFC 2011 is officially in the books. Recapping this past weekend in writing will be good practice for me, seeing as it was such a barreling adventure that I can hardly recount the events that took place. But if I had to sum it up, I guess I would go with: Jay-Z, Sierra Nevada, $200,000, and Good People. The good people we met out in Vegas really made the trip. Here’s our journey, to the best of my recollection: (Read More)
