  • Closer Report: May 21st

    alt

Another week that comes with one official closer change and one change that seems less than official. In the big news, Aroldis Chapman has been handed the keys to close. He is one of the most exciting pitchers in baseball and has HUGE strikeout potential. He will be a good play on most nights closing out for the Reds. The other ‘change’ is a confirmation that Scott Downs will continue to close out games for the Angels despite the concerns surrounding his ability to finish out games. For awhile, the Angels had even listed Ernesto Frieri as the closer after Jordan Walden failed to lock down the job, but it appears that Scott Downs has proven he deserves to keep getting the final chance for Los Angeles. Welcome to Sunday’s NBA Daily Plays, where every team left in these playoffs will be on the court either Sunday or Monday. • Grinders Rankings Update 5/17: Movement In The Top 3

    alt

There wasn’t a drastic amount of movement this week among the Grinders, so this rankings update will be brief. Nonetheless, the players who were able to make moves did so impressively. The week in rankings can be summarized with four new players on the leaderboard, two double-digit leaps, and one player moving his way up in the top ten. The week in sports can be summarized by a fairly uneventful Conference Semifinals so far in the NBA, an intriguing set up of NHL Conference Finals and the typical ebbs and flows of the long MLB season. So without further ado, here are your Grinder Rankings top headliners of the week. (Read More)

  • Daily NBA Plays: May 15, 2012 (2-Day Playoffs)

    alt

This Tuesday’s NBA Daily Plays will be a two-day edition, because the only remaining NBA leagues around have to be multi-day events. In the next two days(Tuesday and Wednesday) every remaining team will be playing. For those of you out of the loop, the Spurs host the Clippers and the Heat host the Pacers on Tuesday. Wednesday features the Celtics going to the 76ers and the Lakers visiting the Thunder. It’s the Conference Semifinals, meaning it is probably your last chance to play daily fantasy basketball this season. Let’s get some daily plays, but first let’s take a look at the two-day guys from yesterday who have yet to play. (Read More)

  • Closer Report: May 14th

    alt

There have been fifteen closer changes since the opening of Spring Training. If your daily fantasy baseball is on DraftStreet or FantasyFeud, you need to be up to date on all of the latest, breaking closer news. This is the first edition of the Closer Report. The Closer Report lists Team, Player, Job Security, Second Option and if a change has taken place with its reasoning. Job Security is ranked on a scale of extremely low to extremely high. The changes in the closer role are split between performance based changes (P) and injury based changes (DL). Hopefully this chart can serve as a useful tool, but be sure to always check who has been over-used lately and that might be the right night to pick up a second option guy for dirt cheap. Good luck and keep on grinding. (Read More)

  • BrettFavre444 Stands Atop a Chaotic Top Ten Leaderboard

    alt

Last week, it was Beermakersfan who was able to hold the top spot. This week BrettFavre444 was able to accomplish that impressive feat. Big props to BrettFavre444 who has methodically climbed the leaderboard over the past couple of months and is finally the top ranked Grinder. But Brett wasn’t the only one making moves in the top ten this week. In fact, there were three other players to rise up within the top ten over the past seven days. Maxdalury has continued on his drive to the top by moving up two more places and standing at 3rd overall. PrimeTime420 recovered nicely and displaced one player to stand at 8th overall. And HeadChopper, an active member of the RG community, moved up two spots to find himself in 10th overall! Great work to all of these guys. (Read More)

  • Daily NBA Plays: May 8, 2012 (Playoffs)

    alt

There are four games on Tuesday, the same number of games as there would be on a typical Tuesday during the NBA regular season. So we can look at these games much like we would in the regular season, except the level of play is much higher. No Bobcats players to supplement your sleeper picks, etc. So let’s break down the four Tuesday match ups and see if we can win you some money as the NBA season winds down. (Read More)

  • Beermakersfan is #1!

    alt

Just a few short weeks after Condia and Rudzia55 switched spots atop the board, we have yet another new leader in Grinder Nation. The 2011 FFFC champion, Beermakersfan, has taken the top position as he impressively overtook Rudzia55 last week and now Condia. Beermakersfan was clearly prepared for the start of baseball season, and has used a huge number of wins on FanDuel to become the top DFS player in the Grinder system. A huge congratulations to Beermakersfan on this incredible achievement and best of luck holding that top spot moving ahead. (Read More)

We all know fantasy baseball is a game involving statistics, numbers and data. There is a lot of information you can sift through while constructing any MLB lineup, sometimes too much. With the help of our latest update to RotoGrinders, we’ve consolidated a good majority of that information onto two convenient pages on RotoGrinders. We hope that there’s no longer a need for you to have eighteen-some-odd tabs open at a time just to choose your Catcher for the day, and that you can get all of your research done on just RG for MLB season. The newest component we’ve added for MLB is Splits. Let’s take a quick look at how to use splits on RotoGrinders, and how they can help you set your MLB lineup: (Read More)

  • RotoGrinders MLB Daily Lineups Page

    alt

Baseball season is here, and it’s one of the most research-intensive sports in Daily Fantasy. One of the most important research tools a Grinder wants to have comprising their MLB research arsenal is access to Daily MLB Lineups, sponsored by DraftDay. You can find these MLB Lineups on several sites across the interwebs, but the problem is that these lineup pages don’t come with additional information tailored to Daily Fantasy MLB. Subsequently, you wind up with 13 some-odd tabs open in your web browser, and it becomes a bit of a hassle. Not anymore! RotoGrinders has tailored our Lineups page to the Daily Fantasy Grinder, so that you have an all-in-one experience when building your lineup. If you’re new to RotoGrinders, there are a few things you should look for on the lineup page. Here’s a quick overview: (Read More)

  • Condia Reclaims #1 Overall Grinder Ranking

    alt

This week comes with a lot of small movement, but two guys stoop out and made double-digit leaps up the board. I expect a lot more movement as baseball starts, but for this week there were two elite players who continued to cement their position in the standings. Drewboski moved an impressive ten places up to 78th place overall, so congratulations there. Let’s see if Drewboski continues his climb and can soon find himself in the top 50. The biggest jump of the week was a 13 place jump by Rooks19 who continues his hot streak and now sits at 38th overall. A week after Rooks19 moved up big time to stand just outside the top fifty, he won big again and displaced a couple of top fifty players. (Read More)

  • HixvilleHunk Regains Top 5 GLB Ranking

    alt

Well last week I decided to take a brief vacation from the entire daily fantasy sports world. Joined only a couple of leagues, didn’t put together any blogs, and skipped out on this rankings article. Granted you’d have a tough time convincing me not to trade a week at the beach in place of all this action all year long, but still I missed it. The daily drama of meaningless rebounds ruining your night, goalies giving up shutouts with just seconds left on the clock or watching your night go down the drain as some kid in your league somehow put together the perfect lineup. I can’t decide what’s worse, taking a bad beat in daily fantasy or being unable to sleep because your pale Irish skin was never meant for exposure to sun. Regardless, I’m back and ready to update all of the breaking news among the best fantasy players around, even if the sunburn has caused me to look like a snake shedding it’s skin. (Read More)
