  • Grinders Rankings Update 5/17: Movement In The Top 3

    alt

There wasn’t a drastic amount of movement this week among the Grinders, so this rankings update will be brief. Nonetheless, the players who were able to make moves did so impressively. The week in rankings can be summarized with four new players on the leaderboard, two double-digit leaps, and one player moving his way up in the top ten. The week in sports can be summarized by a fairly uneventful Conference Semifinals so far in the NBA, an intriguing set up of NHL Conference Finals and the typical ebbs and flows of the long MLB season. So without further ado, here are your Grinder Rankings top headliners of the week. Read More

  • Closer Report: May 14th

    alt

There have been fifteen closer changes since the opening of Spring Training. If your daily fantasy baseball is on DraftStreet or FantasyFeud, you need to be up to date on all of the latest, breaking closer news. This is the first edition of the Closer Report. The Closer Report lists Team, Player, Job Security, Second Option and if a change has taken place with its reasoning. Job Security is ranked on a scale of extremely low to extremely high. The changes in the closer role are split between performance based changes (P) and injury based changes (DL). Hopefully this chart can serve as a useful tool, but be sure to always check who has been over-used lately and that might be the right night to pick up a second option guy for dirt cheap. Good luck and keep on grinding. (Read More)

  • Introducing: Splits and Lineups

    alt

We all know fantasy baseball is a game involving statistics, numbers and data. There is a lot of information you can sift through while constructing any MLB lineup, sometimes too much. With the help of our latest update to RotoGrinders, we’ve consolidated a good majority of that information onto two convenient pages on RotoGrinders. We hope that there’s no longer a need for you to have eighteen-some-odd tabs open at a time just to choose your Catcher for the day, and that you can get all of your research done on just RG for MLB season. The newest component we’ve added for MLB is Splits. Let’s take a quick look at how to use splits on RotoGrinders, and how they can help you set your MLB lineup: (Read More)

  • RotoGrinders MLB Daily Lineups Page

    alt

Baseball season is here, and it’s one of the most research-intensive sports in Daily Fantasy. One of the most important research tools a Grinder wants to have comprising their MLB research arsenal is access to Daily MLB Lineups, sponsored by DraftDay. You can find these MLB Lineups on several sites across the interwebs, but the problem is that these lineup pages don’t come with additional information tailored to Daily Fantasy MLB. Subsequently, you wind up with 13 some-odd tabs open in your web browser, and it becomes a bit of a hassle. Not anymore! RotoGrinders has tailored our Lineups page to the Daily Fantasy Grinder, so that you have an all-in-one experience when building your lineup. If you’re new to RotoGrinders, there are a few things you should look for on the lineup page. Here’s a quick overview: (Read More)

  • RotoGrinders Rankings Update: HixvilleHunk Jumps to #3

    alt

HixvilleHunk (#3) created waves in the Daily Fantasy industry when word of his heater in which he grinded out a $20,000 profit took place to start out this MLB season. It’s a big deal for a Grinder to reach the Top 10 in the Overall Grinders Rankings. If they get there, it’s an even bigger deal to gain just 1 spot during the one week rankings update. If they somehow jump two spots, then they’re guaranteed to make the headlines for the Rankings Update article. This week, HixvilleHunk jumped four spots. This further solidifies his role as one of the top Grinders in the industry today. Now that he’s all the way up to #3, he faces the daunting task of nearly doubling his total Grinder Points to reach the #2 spot. Few have made it to a spot to challenge #1 Kaiseroll13 and #2 Rudzia555 before; None have succeeded. HixvilleHunk (real name Ryan H.) seems to be the real deal, and could be the first to challenge these two for a top spot. (Read More)

  • Top 5 Daily Fantasy Frustrations

    alt

You can’t stand it when it happens to you…but it’s even more painful to hear others complaining about these misfortunes. So we all bite our tongues and move on; Well, most of us… If you log onto the FanDuel or DraftStreet chat boxes at any point in time you’re likely to hear a combination of one, two or all of these topics being sounded off on. So without further adieu, here is my list of the top 5 Daily Fantasy Frustrations, felt throughout the industry – especially by myself:
#5) Bullpen Implosion – With your pitching selection seemingly well on his way to reward your astute decision, you realize a contest victory and top 3 finish in a multi-team contest is all but guaranteed since J.C. Romero has tossed six strong frames staked to a 5-0 lead and showing no signs of slowing down. (Read More)

  • Fantasy Home Run Derby Debuts on DraftStreet

    alt

After much anticipation, DraftStreet has unveiled Home Run Derby for Fantasy MLB. Personally, I’m stoked for this innovative new game style. The simplicity of the Home Run Derby format opens a lot of doors in the Daily Fantasy World: I’m looking forward to being able to actually watch a game and know how my players are scoring in MLB. I’m looking forward to being able to join a 3-way match with Devo and HixvilleHunk and actually stand a chance to win. And to get some lineups in on days when there’s no time to research. But what is really appealing, is the appeal itself, the mass appeal. (Read More)

  • Training for the FanDuel Ironman

    alt

With so many great contests and promotions out there in the fantasy sports world, there’s really no reason for you to not take advantage of them. Right now FanDuel is offering two great promotions that you can qualify for. And the best part about them is that they will not cost a penny more than you are already paying for you daily leagues, as long as you are playing in leagues, you have the chance to qualify. FanDuel’s two promotional contests are the β€œTournament Kings Contest” and the β€œIronman Challenge.” This week, I will touch on the Ironman Challenge and then next week I will explain the Tournament Kings Contest. • $25,000 FanDuel Grand Slam Preview with ZooBird

    alt

Quick, what is the largest prize pool you’ve ever played for in a fantasy baseball league, daily or season long? While we do have some high stakes guys in the community, few of us have ever played for anywhere close to $25,000. I’ve played arduous, competitive full season leagues with a prize pool 1% as big as the FanDuel Grand Slam. This is an awesome promo. Someone is going to win $5,000 on opening day. Hopefully it’s me. For this, I’ll enter at least 10 teams at $10 a pop. It’s certainly going to be fun to sweat my teams and the teams of fellow Grinders. (Read More)

  • Rankings Update: Huge Gain for GeneralV

    alt

Since mid-November the biggest mover by a large margin was GeneralV, who had an absolutely monster two-week stretch (with a lot to do with his Week 9 FFFC victory)! Over the last two weeks RotoGrinders has V tracked at over $13,000 in winnings, which includes the $5,000 FFFC prize package. GeneralV had an estimated $8,000 in winnings 2 weeks ago (including the $5k package), and over $5,000 this past week alone. The past 2 weeks’ winnings were good enough for V one spot to #3 in the rankings, and put him just 86 points back, and in striking distance, of grabbing the #2 spot. (Read More)

  • 2 Grinders in Top 3 of FanDuel $1,400 MLB Challenge

    alt

The Daily Fantasy industry took a step forward yesterday, with the first large-field contest taking place on FanDuel. The one-time MLB contest took place Monday, so FanDuel could test their large-field software for the upcoming FanDuel Fantasy Football Championship, and it appears to have been a success! The contest offered a $1,400 Guarantee with just a $10 entry fee, paying very top-heavy with 1st place earning $1,000, 2nd place earning $300, and 3rd place earning $100 – A nice return for just a $10 investment. Users were allowed unlimited entries and the field drew 150 competitors (some of which were FanDuel employees who could not qualify for any prizes). While it appears FanDuel were able to about break-even on the contest held yesterday, we are sure they will be big winners once the FFFC rolls around. (Read More)
