  • Grinders Rankings Update 5/17: Movement In The Top 3

    alt

There wasn’t a drastic amount of movement this week among the Grinders, so this rankings update will be brief. Nonetheless, the players who were able to make moves did so impressively. The week in rankings can be summarized with four new players on the leaderboard, two double-digit leaps, and one player moving his way up in the top ten. The week in sports can be summarized by a fairly uneventful Conference Semifinals so far in the NBA, an intriguing set up of NHL Conference Finals and the typical ebbs and flows of the long MLB season. So without further ado, here are your Grinder Rankings top headliners of the week. Read More

I have decided to mix things up and give an actual lineup for the 2 day games on FanDuel tonight. • Daily NBA Plays: May 15, 2012 (2-Day Playoffs)

    alt

This Tuesday’s NBA Daily Plays will be a two-day edition, because the only remaining NBA leagues around have to be multi-day events. In the next two days(Tuesday and Wednesday) every remaining team will be playing. For those of you out of the loop, the Spurs host the Clippers and the Heat host the Pacers on Tuesday. Wednesday features the Celtics going to the 76ers and the Lakers visiting the Thunder. It’s the Conference Semifinals, meaning it is probably your last chance to play daily fantasy basketball this season. Let’s get some daily plays, but first let’s take a look at the two-day guys from yesterday who have yet to play. (Read More)

There are four games on Tuesday, the same number of games as there would be on a typical Tuesday during the NBA regular season. So we can look at these games much like we would in the regular season, except the level of play is much higher. No Bobcats players to supplement your sleeper picks, etc. So let’s break down the four Tuesday match ups and see if we can win you some money as the NBA season winds down. (Read More)

If you’re still wondering if Marcus Thornton is for real or if Blake Griffin was really hitting a “rookie wall” it’s probably safe to say both questions have been answered. Thornton continues to make Sacramento fans forget about Tyreke Evans and Blake Griffin has returned to the scene of the “winning the rookie of the year” crime. The point is, these are two monster performers when the ball gets rolling, and it’s time to stop doubting them. However, the worry that creeps in every daily fantasy gamer’s mind is well noted, and also pretty understandable. That’s why the NBA Weekly Preview is here, to get you a head-start on the week, in an effort to ease your worries as you build your daily lineup. (Read More)

We have officially entered the Twilight Zone in fantasy basketball. Just when you think you know a guy, the rug gets ripped out from underneath you. Kevin Love’s insane double-double streak ends at 53. Blake Griffin suddenly can’t post a single double-double. And on the other side of the fantasy spectrum, Chris Paul, a seemingly injured and sinking spirit, has returned to dominance as if his career has depended on it. (Read More)

The 2010-11 NBA Trade Deadline has come and gone, but not without some craziness that probably had some season-long fantasy basketball owners worrying about their fantasy rosters. Lucky for many of us, however, daily and weekly fantasy basketball allows us to stand back from trades and injuries and assess each player’s value, in addition to their surroundings. With all of the shaking up with the recent trades, now is the time to monitor roster situations for the present, while looking toward the future to predict what the remainder of the season may hold. February brings fantasy basketball to a bit of a halt this week, as the NBA All-Star game and all of its festivities take center stage. For fantasy fans, it means your weekly lineup has been ravaged, or your art of daily game playing may be compromised. Whatever your stance, its important to note the effect of this week, as many teams play just one game, and the most any teams play is two. First, the lack of games makes it a little easier in picking your stand-out players. However, second, there is far less room for error. To have you as best prepared as possible, we’re diving deep into everything that is happening this week to help you form the best possible fantasy basketball lineups and win. Before you decide who you’re plugging into your daily lineup, keep in mind who is preparing for their only game of the week, and who has two attempts to enter the All-Star game is style. (Read More)

  • KC's Commentary: Top 5 NBA Happenings

    alt

I’m a man of change. A man of great depth. A man who is transitioning from NFL to bigger, brighter, and more circular things. By this I mean basketball. I must clarify to you all that I am by no means an expert on the NBA. In fact, I am quite the opposite. But the qualities that I do possess, awesomeness and charisma mainly, allow me to write on the topic without much concern for my level of expertise or the quality of the facts and commentary that I divulge to all of you. There are many people that are far less knowledgeable than me that provide ‘expert’ analysis of sporting events (see Pat Summerall and the NHL Tonight anchors). Therefore I am going to tell you all what I think, and tell you all beforehand to take it for what it is worth. Absolutely Nothing. (Read More)

  • Rankings Update: Huge Gain for GeneralV

    alt

Since mid-November the biggest mover by a large margin was GeneralV, who had an absolutely monster two-week stretch (with a lot to do with his Week 9 FFFC victory)! Over the last two weeks RotoGrinders has V tracked at over $13,000 in winnings, which includes the $5,000 FFFC prize package. GeneralV had an estimated $8,000 in winnings 2 weeks ago (including the $5k package), and over $5,000 this past week alone. The past 2 weeks’ winnings were good enough for V one spot to #3 in the rankings, and put him just 86 points back, and in striking distance, of grabbing the #2 spot. (Read More)
