  • Weekly Review and High Performance Grinders

    We’re callin’ this week’s edition the β€˜Cheese and Whine’ Edition (note the spelling). These two things dominated the weekend of NFL and also happened to be some of my favorite holiday foods. Let me explain:

    Cheese (Meaning #1) – The Green Bay Packers. How impressive was the performance of Aaron Rodgers and company this week? They absolutely thrashed a Giants team that is one of the better teams in the NFC. Yes, they were at home. Yes, the Giants are a tad nicked up. But all excuses aside (again with the whine) this was an eye-opening performance. As we count down to the end of the ever-popular ex-Packers QB, can we take a second to recognize the new one? • Weekly Review and High Performance Grinders

    alt

    ‘Twas the week before Christmas in the NFL,

 with games so competitive, not even a grinder could tell;

 What teams would win?,
 what heroes would arise
What stars would falter and be a grinder’s demise?;

 Screen passes and dumb punts determine our fate,

 While QBs lead drives that could change things so late; But as you hold your breath and wonder who the winner will be, please open your ears and learn this lesson from me; Remember that this game of ours is all in good fun,

 Especially for β€˜KC’ who just BANKED A TON. (Read More)

  • Meet FFFC Champion: GeneralV

    alt

    He started with a $100 deposit at the beginning of the Baseball season, and since then turned that into well over $25,000 and an FFFC Championship without ever needing to re-deposit; meet Joe Vance ladies and gentlemen. Joe, a.k.a. GeneralV, used to be just a regular fantasy sports Grinder like most of us here. Then something clicked with him this October in the midst of NFL season, and also right around the birth of his first daughter. Since this epiphany, which Joe would not let on much about, he’s been a fantasy beast. Most of us would be satisfied with a 65% win-rate in heads up contests; try a 92% win-rate on for size. Joe told us that he has a “92% win rate on DraftStreet” and that “he can’t stand that the games in progress on [DraftStreet] count as losses until they complete, and thus take away from that win rate.” Must be tough Joe. Oh, and that’s not even just Heads Up contests he’s talking about. Joe, estimates that between “30-35%” of his wins are for contests with 3 or more players in them, the types of contests “he prefers”. (Read More)

  • Rankings Update: Huge Gain for GeneralV

    alt

    Since mid-November the biggest mover by a large margin was GeneralV, who had an absolutely monster two-week stretch (with a lot to do with his Week 9 FFFC victory)! Over the last two weeks RotoGrinders has V tracked at over $13,000 in winnings, which includes the $5,000 FFFC prize package. GeneralV had an estimated $8,000 in winnings 2 weeks ago (including the $5k package), and over $5,000 this past week alone. The past 2 weeks’ winnings were good enough for V one spot to #3 in the rankings, and put him just 86 points back, and in striking distance, of grabbing the #2 spot. (Read More)

  • Weekly Rankings Update: Tony C. Jumps to #8

    alt

    After a brief fall down to the #12 spot, TonyCincotta was our biggest Top 10 gainer this week grabbing 189 points, which was good enough to get him back up to the #8 Overall spot. headChopper had the second biggest week in the Top 10 with 143 point gain, but GeneralV was able to again put up solid numbers and hold off HC for the #3 spot, keeping the Top 7 the same as they were last week. Tony C’s big jump to #8 managed to push TeamKC to 9th place and SClements21 to 10th. The prestigious #1 spot is still held onto by etoppsfan, but PrimeTime420 is firmly within striking distance still, only 184 points back. E-Topps finally cooled off his monster streak, putting up his first sub-100 point week since joining the RotoGrinders Rankings. (Read More)

    With MLB season all but finished, it is up to the NFL and upcoming NBA and NHL seasons to gain leverage in the Rankings. • PrimeTime420 Wins September GLB

    alt

    The first RotoGrinders Monthly GLB is in the books and it should come as no surprise that #1 ranked PrimeTime420 took the honors. • Rankings Update: Etopps Continues to Climb

    alt

    When joining RotoGrinders just over one month ago, Etoppsfan debuted in 17th place of 27 in our second official rankings. Since then, Etopps has been on a mission to absolutely crush the Daily Fantasy Sports world. On the 24th he had already risen to 11th place; by September 7th Etopps was 8th place; now he’s all the way up to 2nd! During that time period he has amassed over 2,000 Grinder Points to his account across FSL, FanDuel, Draft Zone and 365, with the vast majority of those points coming only from August until today. If he keeps the same pace up, there is no reason to suspect he won’t soon be challenging PrimeTime420 for the number one spot. (Read More)
