Happy Wednesday! Only a couple of more days until the weekend. Quick recap of our picks from yesterday: Our pitchers all performed very well. Burnett finished with 10 K’s, Kershaw had a nice game even though he did get stuck with the loss, and Gallardo really pitched well with 8 K’s in a win. The hitter’s weren’t as successful though with no home runs or big games from any of them. But that shouldn’t stop us from turning it around today. Here are our favorite picks for today based on Draftstreet salaries: (Read More)

I was surprised to see three of the four teams on the brink of elimination find a way to win last night, but that just gives us more options for our 2 day Daily Fantasy basketball lineups. You can find 2 day action on both Drafstreet and FantasyFeud. Be sure to sign up through our links for terrific signup and incentive bonuses on each site. Here are our picks for the day. (Read More)

Daily Joust’s Solo Survivor Tournaments are unlike any other game you’ll encounter in the daily fantasy world. As such, there is a entirely different set of strategies that one needs to employ to take one down. Let’s start by understanding the beast and then craft an approach to slay it. We’ll also construct a lineup for tonight’s May 8th games. (Read More)

We were in for a high-scoring fantasy baseball night last night and hopefully you were as well if you tuned in for yesterday’s Daily MLB Plays. In case you missed them, here are a few highlights: Carlos Zambrano with a complete game shutout, Nelson Cruz with a big game including two doubles and 3 runs, Jay Bruce and Hanley Ramirez both with homers, and Prince Fielder with a solid outing. This was one of our better nights and we will look to keep that going with tonight’s picks. These will be based from Draftstreet player salaries: (Read More)

There are four games on Tuesday, the same number of games as there would be on a typical Tuesday during the NBA regular season. So we can look at these games much like we would in the regular season, except the level of play is much higher. No Bobcats players to supplement your sleeper picks, etc. So let’s break down the four Tuesday match ups and see if we can win you some money as the NBA season winds down. (Read More)

With only two games tonight it is kind of difficult to play one day leagues without massive overlap, but luckily sites like Draftstreet & Fantasy Feud offer 2 day games which increases the player pool dramatically. We are going to focus on Draftstreet today and here is a rundown of a roster I like tonight. (Read More)

Mondays are great as we get a whole new set of series to take a look at and besides a front end of the a double header, all the games are scheduled for the evening. I didn’t include Jared Weaver in my analysis today because I’m sure that everyone agrees that using him against the team he just pitched a no hitter against 5 days ago probably qualifies as a good play. Historically, starts after no hitters have not been particularly good (ask Phil Humber), but the Twins suck so bad Weaver should have very few issues putting together a good out. Here are today’s plays and good luck. (Read More)

Hope everyone won some money on the Derby yesterday, what better way to parlay those winnings than by signing up for some new daily fantasy sites you haven’t had a chance to try out yet? Click the incentives to sign up. Looking at some young starters to get some big K numbers today Yu Davish and Matt Moore. While starters like JA Happ could be in big trouble, load up on Cardinals today. (Read More)

Some of the better batter vs. pitchers stats came through yesterday with Todd Helton and Mark Teixiera having big games. The stat is not infallible, but day in and day out it provides some decent results. Be sure to check our splits tab for all the top batter vs. pitcher numbers for the day. Here are the Saturday selections. (Read More)

The first round of the playoffs are in full-swing, and it’s a great time to play some Daily Fantasy NBA while there is still a ton of players to choose from. DraftStreet and Fantasy Feud are both offering 2-Day contests, which while not daily, increase the player pools and thus reduce the overlap between competing lineups. With only 3 games most nights, this Saturday and Sunday are a prime opportunity with 4 games going on each day starting at 2:00 PM on Saturday! Don’t miss out! Today we’ll look at value picks for the newest site on the scene, Fantasy Feud’s, two-day contests. (Read More)

The NBA playoffs have hit their stride and there have been storylines abound. While there haven’t been any major upsets so far, there is still plenty of basketball to be played. We have 3 games on the schedule tonight as well as 4 games tomorrow so there is plenty of action available for fantasy basketball this weekend. Whether you play Draftstreet’s 2-day leagues or one day leagues on other sites, these picks should help you get a solid team together: (Read More)

Another week draws to a close with a couple of big qualifying events for the FanDuel and DraftStreet Baseball Championships. There are a lot of useful arms to choose from tonight, so the difference in these big contests will be efficient use of whatever portion of your cap you want to dedicate toward batters. That is, I’m expecting low scores around the majors on Friday night. Yeah, I’d be that guy at the book cheering for the under. I’m such a buzzkill. Let’s make picks. (Read More)

The playoffs are normally filled with great games, crazy competition, and game winnings shots, however this year the playoffs have taken on a different role. It’s more of a circus than anything else with all that has gone on. Injuries, suspensions, and punching glass have turned this years playoffs into more talk about the off court stuff than the actual games. But for us die hard fantasy nuts, we have to keep focused on the action on the court. We have some great picks for you today. These picks are based on Draftstreet’s 2-Day leagues and salaries: (Read More)

Light scheduling day with 5 day and 4 night games. No real aces going today except for Dan Haren but Haren has struggled in the past against Adam Lind, Kelly Johnson, Jose Bautista, and Edwin Encarnacion so I would label him a risky play to avoid. The Angels offense finally got rolling last night but still not much from Albert Pujols, for his price I would say he is almost a must play every day from here on out with the potential that he has. Unless you believe there is an injury in play. (Read More)

While last night wasn’t the best night for our picks, I did manage to win the qualifier for Draftstreet’s DSBC! While I think it took a whole lot of luck (a complete game shutout from Jerome Williams), I also would like to credit Rotogrinders for their amazing research tools. If you haven’t checked them out, be sure to visit the splits/lineups page each day to help build your team, they certainly make my job easier. But enough about me let’s get to the picks! Since the early game has already started, all of these picks will be for games that start at 6:35 ET or later. Tonight’s games are packed with great pitching so it is going to be hard to find good hitters tonight. (Read More)

  • RotoTalk: Field Size and Player Selection

    alt

Hey gang, welcome to RotoTalk. Every week (or so) I’ll be covering some daily fantasy strategy. Some days it will be focused specifically on a particular game format, but more often it will be general strategy that is applicable to all walks of daily fantasy life. Since I’ve been playing on Daily Joust a ton since MLB started, let’s take a closer at how field size should drive the profile of the players you select when playing in anything from a Solo contest all the way up to Tournaments with 100+ entrants. There are three games in the NBA playoffs on Tuesday night and another three slated for Wednesday. Since the league’s you can play in(one or two day) depend on the site, I’ll be basing today’s picks for tonight’s games only and leaving tomorrow’s plays for the Daily Plays article on Wednesday. The Celtics and Hawks tip-off first tonight without Rajon Rondo in the Boston backcourt. The Bulls try and shake off the horrifying Derrick Rose injury in Game 2 against the 76ers. And the conclusion of the evening is another possible high-scoring game between the Nuggets and Lakers. (Read More)

Today is officially the start of May which means summer is almost here. We are lucky right now because we have daily fantasy MLB and NBA which couldn’t get any better if you play both sports. Before we get into today’s picks, here is a quick recap of yesterday’s and while we didn’t have Braun, we did have a few nice picks. Cargo, Rollins, and Ruiz all had nice games and closer Scott Downs came through with a big save. Today’s picks are based on Draftstreet’s salaries: (Read More)

Yesterday was a bit rough, although Matt Garza dominated the Phillies the other 3 starter recommendations were average at best. Pujols continues to do absolutely nothing and apparently Derek Lowe did not like being called out for sucking as he shut out the Angels yesterday. Angels face Nick Blackburn today and since most Angels have dropped in price today could be the day to stack them and win a big tourney if they finally produce. Lefty filled Monday from a starter standpoint. While you can’t go wrong starting C.J. Wilson or King Felix Hernandez, we will give you some cheaper starters to consider as well. (Read More)
