MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, April 3

Who is your top overall hitter (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

squirrelpatrol: Jose Altuve – The Astros should be popular today, but Kyle Tucker and Yordan Alvarez may see more of the ownership than Altuve. I’ll fill the 2B position with the Astros table-setter at lower ownership and hope for an extra plate appearance for either a HR or a SB.

stevietpfl: Cody Bellinger – The weather in this game is a problem, but if this game plays, I will be overweight on the Cubs again tonight. Cal Quantrill doesn’t miss bats, and there is going to be a lot of hard contact in this matchup. Quantrill allowed a .201 ISO, .376 wOBA, and 48.6% hard-hit rate against lefties last season. I think this is a great spot for Bellinger and the Cubs.

TheLuuch: Yordan Alvarez – While I don’t think the Houston 5-man stack is the play, I do think you can certainly mini-stack and one-off some of them. The problem is that Chris Bassitt is very good against righties. Alvarez and Kyle Tucker are the only two lefties in the projected lineup. Alvarez is one of the best hitters in the game. As good as Bassit is versus righties, he’s equally as awful versus lefties. If the Astros do damage tonight, I think it’s coming from the big guy, who has had Bassitt’s number across his career.

Alex Sonty: Yordan Alvarez – Chris Bassitt kind of sucks against lefties — 12.1% barrel rate with a 33.6% FB rate allowed since the start of 2023. Alvarez has a 21.3% barrel rate agianst RHP on 40.9% fly ball and line drive rates over that span. I’m not stacking the Astros because I’m only interested in lefties, but I’m finding a way to one-off Alvarez.
