College Fantasy Football News and Notes
College football is back and better than ever this year. It looks like there will be a few different sites up and ready to run college football season this year, including DraftStreet and DailyJoust (as well as 365 whom offered them last season)! Now there are many different reasons why college football is such a great fantasy sport, and if you read any of the things I wrote last year you know why. But I will tap into the greatness of college fantasy football later, for now Iβd just like to give some college newbies and brief update on some of the recent happenings in college football. If you’re looking to get started playing NCAA-FB this season, I’d recommend starting by signing up with one of the exclusive deposit bonuses RotoGrinders offers in the DraftStreet Review and DailyJoust Review for exclusive sign-up bonuses.
College Football News and Updates

Montel Harris tweaked his knee in practice. He will miss some time. Andre Williams will replace him. This is significant because Boston College is a heavy running team. They will pound the ball on the ground. Andre Williams is a big dude. He could have some nice games in place of Harris.
Most of you already know that fantasy stud Russell Wilson has transferred to Wisconsin. Donβt expect the inflated fantasy numbers from Wilson this year. However if you are familiar with sports betting, I’m thinking this season is when you would place a future bet on Wisconsin to win the Big 10. They are stout.
Baylor stud WR Josh Gordon was suspended, and then decided to transfer. Looks like he will end up in Utah. I think this means a slight downgrade for Robert Griffin. Not much, but slightly. It never helps to lose your best big play receiver.
Denard Robinson will still rack up those running yards. This is actually big news. Last season Denard βShoelaceβ Robinson was a must start fantasy QB every time he was healthy because he was a rushing machine and sprinkled in some decent passing numbers. When Rich Rodriquez got fired before this season and took his offensive scheme with him, many wondered if shoelace was going to hold value this year. Well the new coach, Brady Hoke, has come out and stated that he wants shoelace to get about 15 carries a game. Factor in the random scrambles for big yards and shoelace should once again be a fantasy killer at QB.
Speaking of fast QBs, Missouri sophomore James Franklin looks to have the job all to himself now that the Gabbert boys are gone. Blaine Gabbert drafted in the 1st round of the NFL draft and his brother Tyler Gabbert has transferred out of Missouri. James Franklin can fly. Jump on this guy early on sites that reward the running QB. Another reason to roster him in the early part of the season is because he probably wonβt hold up very well all year long with his slim frame and running a bunch. But until then, he is explosive on the ground.
Thatβs about it for now. I will try to bring out a college update once a week or so until the season starts and we can start putting together rosters and discuss pricing. This is sure to be a huge college football season and I donβt know about you, but I canβt wait till September 1 opening night kickoff!
