  • Friday Night: Last Minute Sleepers and Values

    + 2

    Good Afternoon All,

I know this is late notice, but here is a pretty good list of five potential values and sleepers tonight given the questionable status of many valuable contributors.

    Values:

Rajon RondoRajon Rondo is coming off of his third triple double of the season Wednesday night against the Bucks and has an attractive value under $14,000 on Draft Street tonight. Get him in your lineups.

Luis Scola – Scola hasn’t had a great season, but with his price tag just under $11,000 Scole is a great value especially against a Nuggets team that gives up plenty of points. Scola put up 34.5 fantasy points last month against the Nuggets and I wouldn’t be surprised by another 30-plus point outing.

Chris Kaman – Kaman has all but been forgotten in fantasy (much like most of the Hornets), but he has put together a nice string of games of at least 29.5 fantasy points. There is little risk to putting Kaman in the lineup tonight.

Drew Gooden – Gooden has come back from a sprained wrist after the All-Star break and has put up good numbers against in limited minutes. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a 18-10 game from Gooden against the Hawks tonight. Remember, Gooden’s return does somewhat limit the production of Ersan Ilyasova, who is coming off of a 25 and 10 game of his own.

Zaza Pachulia – Pachulia is my opposite Gooden play. The Bucks are filling the center void with a host of power forwards and Pachulia should be able to take advantage. Just as important, Pachulia has seen a huge boon to his playing time logging 78 minutes in his last two games. Pachulia has averaged just shy of 30 points in these games.

    Sleepers:

Willie GreenWillie Green should be able to provide value tonight with Joe Johnson missing tonight’s game against the Bucks. He won’t put up huge numbers, but should give you three times value as you look to round out your lineup. WILLIE GREEN IS OUT TONIGHT

Joel Anthony – Anthony is another guy I like to put into my lineup from time to time as a position filler. With Chris Bosh out again tonight, Anthony will get good minutes and only needs to get you 10 fantasy points to meet value.

Bobby Simmons – I had Bobby Simmons in my lineup last night and he rewarded me with 15 fantasy points in 25 minutes. Simmons should continue to see the floor and should be able to give you EXTREMELY cheap production. Simmons is going for just over $3500 tonight.

Dominic McGuire – Again, when looking for cheap options, McGuire might not be a bad play especially if Stephen Curry is not available tonight. McGuire played 36 minutes Wednesday against the Hawks and was able to pull down 15 boards. In this 36 minutes, McGuire only put up one shot. Perhaps a bit of a reach, but an interesting option.

Gary Neal – Neal had an impressive stretch against the Bulls on Wednesday and has produced when in the lineup. Neal is going for just $7500 and should be considered for your lineup especially if Ginobili is out of the lineup.

    Avoid:

Mike Dunleavy – Dunleavy is out tonight due to the birth of his child. Keep him out of your lineup tonight.

Chris Bosh – Bosh is out again tonight due to the death of his grandmother. Avoid him tonight.

Trevor Ariza – Ariza is also not playing tonight against the Mavericks.

Jermaine O’Neal – O’Neal is out and will be out for the forseeable future.

    Game-Time Decisions:

There is a laundry list of players that are questionable tonight and should be avoided until their status is confirmed. Among the players on this list are Paul Milsap, Manu Ginobili, Bismack Biyombo, Stephen Curry, and Kyrie Irving. Both Dirk Nowitzki and Josh Smith are expected to play despite having a bad back and illness respectively.

As always, best of luck to everyone tonight and throughout the weekend!
