From Site to Site
This is my first blog on RotoGrinders and usually my blogs will be about a daily basketball or baseball game. Most of you know me from taking my money on all the sites or from talking on the forums, but just in case you don’t I’m Steve. Today’s blog I’m going to break down a lot of the major sites and tell you what I think from a player’s eye. I’m not the best fantasy player out there, but I have been around daily fantasy since October of 2010 and I have seen this industry grow big time.

DailyJoust – I think it’s only fair I start off with the site I enjoy the most which is DailyJoust. I think the best thing about this site is how they give back to the everyday player. Besides giving us awesome freerolls from time to time just for getting badges, they also have done a reward called the SuperJoust. The SJ1 was a huge success and gave the everyday player on their site a chance at a 10,000 prize freeroll. So what do they do after the nfl superjoust? Of course they roll out a SuperJoust for the NBA season. Also love the chat and support with this site if you as a player want a certain game, the DJ team will do the best they can to make it happen. One of the coolest and unique games going in daily fantasy is DJ Solo. Instead of playing against another opponent you’re playing against a score. The solo really gives you a chance to get use to daily fantasy without having to take on one of the big dogs. The one thing I don’t like about this site is we’re not getting GPP every night. I think a new player or old player would enjoy the community and games offered over at DailyJoust.com (signup through the RotoGrinders Links).
Salary Prices – Change day to day according to players previous games.

Fanduel – The first site I started playing on and a lot of us started playing on was FanDuel. I still at this point believe that FD is the leading site in this industry, and has grown into a huge company. I really still enjoy entering teams and playing over there, but I can’t leave the page open during the games because of the most annoying chat in the industry. This is a major problem with this site and if it’s not addressed in the future there’s going to be issue going forward. One of the best things about FD is the nightly chance at some good money with their GPP’s. Also for the second year now FD has offered their version of a regular season superbowl called the FFFC. 200,000$ Prize pool for 12 people is amazing!! I like most people can’t wait to see what FD does with baseball and next year’s FFFC. If you’re a new user looking to play small entry fee games to get use to the daily game check out FanDuel.com (signup through the RotoGrinders Links).
Salary Prices – Take a while to change which offers good value.

DraftStreet – DraftStreet took a huge leap into the next step of bringing more players into daily fantasy this year. They went out and got Mr. Roto himself Matthew Berry to advertise for them. Very smart move in my opinion and we should see more of this down the road. DS offers a unique set of lineup differences from the other sites which I really like. I played a lot of baseball over on Draftstreet last year because you had to take more than one pitcher, which really gives an edge to the people like me that do research on a daily bases. Like Fanduel, draftstreet has a huge player base but that comes with the same problem as FD with the chat being terrible. I could go on and on about the chat rooms for both of these sites but I’ll save that for another day. Draftstreet offers big time GPP’s almost every night, and also is one of the only sites to offer PGA games. If you’re a new user looking to try out different sports and different games, you’ll like draftstreet.com (signup through the RotoGrinders Links).
Salary Prices – Change night to night

DraftZone – I’m actually really starting to play more and more over on Draftzone. I really like the live draft feature on this site. It’s like you get your season long draft on a night to night bases. They just added a chat so you can get people to join the live drafts, which is a huge plus from football season. This site really has a lot of good thing going, and I’m really hoping they can bring new users in. The one downside to the site is the player base isn’t that big. So with that said I really think you should give their live drafts a try. DraftZone.com (signup through the RotoGrinders Links)
Salary Prices – Change night to night, but look for players coming off injuries

FantasySportsLive – I think if I don’t start off with saying this site takes the smallest rake back out of all the sites I will have a PM from Blinders within the hour lol. I really think it’s great that they don’t rake as much as other sites and they run the contest even if they don’t fill up. I do have somethings I’d like to see on FSL. I would like FSL to bring a chat onto the site and I would like to be able to edit multi teams at the same time. If you’re a new player looking to try out a good site that doesn’t rake as much as the other sites check out FantasySportsLive.com (signup through the RotoGrinders Links)

DraftDay – Did somebody say a Million Dollar contest in Daily Fantasy? Well yes they did and DD was the first site to offer a chance at a million dollars. It was called the perfect lineup, which meant you had to pick the highest scoring player at each position during that week of the NFL. Nobody hit it this year, but I’m hoping they bring it back next year and a grinder hits it. Draftday is a newer site but that hasn’t stopped them from offering major GPP’s with a lot of underlay. So far the chat isn’t so bad over on DD and they do offer a nightly freeroll for the nba. It’s a great site for a new user or regular daily fantasy player to check out offering a lot of good contest. Look for Draftday to increase in size and be one of the next big time daily fantasy sites. DraftDay.com (signup through the RotoGrinders Links)
Salary Prices – A little slow to change sometimes offering good value

ProfanitySports – Last but surely not least in any way is Profanity sports. Profanity like Draftday is a newer site with a lot of great new ideas. One having to be sending 2 people to vegas for the superbowl. Over the last 5 weeks of the NFL season Profanity ran a promotion for the Grinders. It was a contest in which you took your best score of that week and then added together your best 4 weeks of scores out of the last 5 weeks. It was really fun to watch all the grinders fight it out for a weekend in vegas during the superbowl. The thing I like the most about this site is their new survivor series games. It’s a 3 or 4 week contest that allows you to pick any player from any team, BUT once you use that player you can’t use them again. It’s certainly made the nfl playoffs interesting and totally looking forward to more of these contest. The one bad thing is the interface of the site can be confusing at times, but it seems to be something the guys over there are working hard at. Hope you guys enjoy a little input from a players eye, and look for my nba blogs starting early next week. Enjoy the SuperBowl go Pats just because they have a bunch of Florida Gators.

Ah, you beat me to it! I was going to do this same exact thing for this month. Hats off to you my friend!
Yeah I’ve been working on it for a week or so now just had some extra time yesterday so I finished it up.
