  • NBA Picks For Leap Year Day (2-29)

    + 2

Happy Leap Year Day everybody. Wednesday is a full slate, and I found a few good sleepers for the games. I really like my DraftStreet lineup for the day, and hope it gives my readers a few ideas.

Dwight Howard ($20,901) vs Washington Wizards- Dwight Howard is never a bad play. Going against one of the laziest, worst rebounding and defening teams in the league, I expect him to put up 20-15 easily. Javale Mcgee doesn’t exactly fit the perfect picture of somebody who is going to shut down the most dominant big man in the game. Get him in your lineups as the number one fantasy option tomorrow.

Chris Kaman ($11,194) vs Toronto Raptors- The Raptors don’t really have any big men who match up well with Kaman. Kaman’s playing time has gone way up since Emeka Okafor has been out, and is very capable of putting up a big stat-line. Kaman is a bargain, with huge upside in this match-up. He is a big man who blocks, assists to go along with his points and rebounds. Get him in your lineup, I think he gets close to or over 30 points tonight.

Amar’e Stoudemire ($11,969) vs Cleveland Cavaliers – With Anderson Varajao out, Amare has a good match-up vs the Cavaliers. I don’t expect a huge night, but for his cheap price right now, I think he has a lot of upside. Buying low on all-star caliber players is always a good idea in daily fantasy. I also like Lin’s potential impact better on Amare than Carmelo Anthony. With the Steve Nash comparisons, I expect Amare to benefit from Lin’s presence like he had in Phoenix. Get Amare in your lineups before his price goes back up in the next few weeks.

Brandon Bass) vs Milwaukee Bucks- I like Brandon Bass better than Kevin Garnett in fantasy. Jermain O’Neal missed Tuesday’s game, and Bass took full advantage. He played 35 minutes, out up 12 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and a block. Going against the short frontcourt of the Milwaukee Bucks, I think Bass will have an even bigger night tonight.

Ersan Ilyasova) vs Boston Celtics- I am partly picking him because I have a soft-spot in my heart for this man. Last blog I wrote, I recommended him, and he rewarded me with 29 points and 25 rebounds. That is not a typo. TO anybody who listened to me and put him in your lineups… you are welcome. The Celtics front-court isn’t very scary to me, and I think Ilyasova puts up another big night tonight.

Monta Ellis) vs Atlanta Hawks- When Stephen Curry is out, I always like to get Monta into my lineup. Although he disappointed last night, I think he bounces back with a big night tonight. He will get more opportunities with the ball in his hands with Curry out, and I expect him to take advantage. Monta is not one who is afraid to shoot the ball(like Lebron in the all-star game).

Willie Green) vs Golden State Warriors- As a Sixers fan, I hate Willie Green. He stinks and is one of the basketball players I hate to watch most in the league. That said, he somehow knows how to score. Joe Johnson is expected to miss another game tonight, and Willie Green will take his place in the lineup. Last game, Green put up 14 points and pulled down 5 rebounds against the Magic. The Warriors are worse defensively than the Magic, and I expect Green to be well worth his price-tag tonight.

Corey Brewer) vs Portland Trail Blazers- Speaking of guys taking advantage of injuries, how big has Brewer been. Danilo Gallinari has been, and is still out, and Brewer has benefited the most in playing time. He’s had 29+ minutes the last 8 games, and put up double digit points in the last 5. He also is a threat for a few rebounds and assists, and I think he will be well worth his
