Can you summarize the RotoGrinders Rankings?

The RotoGrinders Rankings are designed to rank the best online Daily Fantasy competitors in the world.

We collect data from the premier sites in the industry and run them through our rankings formula to determine each of our lists. Because players must make use of different skill sets to master the variety of sites, game types, and sports that furnish the industry, our system awards those players displaying higher diversities of skill sets in determining the best Daily Fantasy competitors. Our rankings formula applies a variety of Skill Multipliers (explained below) to each of our user’s individual contest results to calculate which Grinder is the Best of the Best!

Step 1: How Do you Calculate an individual contest result?

It’s simple! Within a given contest type, the most profitable player often performed best. Therefore our formula calculates points for any single contest as follows:

Unlimited Entry Exception

To equalize the effect that contests which allow unlimited entries have on the RotoGrinders Rankings, we only count your highest finish within any one contest towards your RotoGrinders Ranking.)

Step 2: Skill Multipliers

Our goal is to rank the most skilled Daily Fantasy Grinders. Mastering one sport on one site is not enough. To rank the best of the best we award bonuses to:

• Grinders who play multiple sports
• Grinders who play on multiple sites (Winning on multiple sites takes more knowledge of scoring systems, roster formats, and salary cap systems than playing on just one site.)

Since our system ranks the best Daily Fantasy Sports Grinders, our formula weighs Sport Skill Multipliers more heavily than Site Skill Multipliers. Skill Multipliers are applied as follows, with the ranking of your best Sites and Sports being calculated before any multipliers are applied:

Time Period

Our Overall Rankings system is designed to rank the best current Grinders in the industry. For this reason, the Overall leaderboard only counts a user’s results from the past 365 Days (1 year). This awards those who are consistently and currently doing the best.

Monthly Leaderboards

Every month we will reset the monthly leaderboards. This gives anyone a shot to take part in our competitive and fun leaderboards and win at any time! In addition to being able to compete against your friends, RotoGrinders plans to offer added incentives for those that win the Monthly Leaderboard in the near future.

Seasonal Sports Leaderboards

Like to focus your abilities on just one sport? No problem. RotoGrinders also breaks down the best Daily Fantasy contestants in the world Sport by Sport. RotoGrinders offers Daily Fantasy Rankings for contestants for any the following Sports Seasons:

• Football
• Baseball
• Basketball
• Hockey

What is the theory behind this system?

This system was initially modeled after the formula used for the PocketFives.com Online Poker Rankings, which our team formulated back in 2005. After Beta testing, many heated discussions and way too many spreadsheets from Riley, the system was modified and adapted until we found the best current fit for Daily Fantasy Sports. We will continuously evolve and improve our system as needed to ensure that it is the most accurate ranking system for Daily Fatnasy Sports players in the world.

The RotoGrinders Rankings rewards contestants for competing in larger buy-in tournaments, tournaments with larger fields, and those players that are the most profitable over the long-term of the industry. Any player can enter our rankings, maybe even make a splash and rise to the top for a period of time…but only the top Grinders will truly stay there.

Why doesn’t RotoGrinders utilize a Return on Investment (ROI) rankings model?

An ROI rankings system actually has many deficiencies. For example, once a player obtains a high ROI% he/she may be incentivized to stop playing to maintain his or her high ranking. We feel a rankings system should not disincentivize a top player from performing his trade. In addition, our system has the positive side effect or encouraging a higher volume of play per player, which is also a positive for the industry as a whole. More total games played by each individual equates to more money circulated within the industry, which leads to higher prize pools, better promotions, and more publicity for everyone involved!

In addition, due to privacy concerns by the major Daily Fantasy sites that provide us with the necessary data to calculate our rankings, we can only access the wins portion of the data. There currently is no way to determine how much contestants are losing…but that doesn’t mean we aren’t working on it! For the time being, we have created what we are confident is the most reliable rankings system based on the data that is available. RotoGrinders would love to at some point utilize ROI data to bolster the effectiveness of our ratings system, and in the future maybe we will.
