Trevor Siemian Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
NYJ QB Trevor Siemian will start Week 16.
NYJ QB Trevor Siemian will start Week 16.
NOS QB Taysom Hill and QB Trevor Siemian to be placed on COVID list; QB Ian Book expected to start Monday
Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian will be placed on COVID list and Ian Book will now be expected to start Monday against the Miami Dolphins. Ian Book will be set to throw his first regular season NFL pass this Monday after both Hill and Siemian have entered the COVID protocols. Book is a considerable downgrade from both Hill and Siemian and all New Orleans pass-catchers will see a dip in expected production. The Saints will likely lean on their best player, Alvin Kamara, who could see a tremendous amount of touches. This game should be slow paced as the Saints will look to steal a win with defense and their rushing attack.
NOS QB Trevor Siemian expected to start Sunday
Trevor Siemian is expected to start Sunday for the Saints when they are set to take on the Atlanta Falcons, but Taysom Hill is also expected to see some snaps as well. Coach Sean Payton was so impressed with Siemian in last Sunday's game that he has elected to go with him over Hill who was competing for the job in the preseason. Siemian is a veteran quarterback who doesn't figure to do anything special but should offer a solid floor despite Hill cutting into his snaps.
Jets QB Luke Falk Waived
In a surprising move, the Jets have waived backup QB Luke Falk. He may be added back to the Jets practice squad, but the team also could make an attempt to get another backup signal caller.
Originally the Jets' QB3 before Darnold and Trevor Siemian went down, Falk was forced into significant action in three games. He attempted 73 passes, did not score a touchdown, turned the ball over five times, and managed to accrue less than 12 total FPs in those games.
Trevor Siemian Out for the Season
Siemian tore ligaments in his ankle Monday night, knocking him out for the rest of the season. Luke Falk will take over as the starter until Sam Darnold is able to return. The Jets are more than 3 touchdown underdogs Week 3 against the Patriots, and it is hard to see anyone except Le'Veon Bell producing for the Jets until Darnold can return.
Jets RB Le’Veon Bell (Shoulder) Officially Questionable for MNF
Unsurprisingly, Bell is officially listed as questionable for Monday night's contest vs. the Browns. As we reported earlier, Head Coach Adam Gase expects the star RB to play and be the workhorse again. The Jets are going to need production from Bell in order to have a shot to upset the Browns, especially since they will be without QB Sam Darnold (illness).
Jets WR Demaryius Thomas Questionable for MNF
Acquired in a trade with New England after New York lost WR Quincy Enunwa for the season, Thomas could see immediate playing time if he suits up on Monday night. With Le'Veon Bell banged up and Chris Herndon still suspended, Thomas doesn't have a ton of competition for volume, which may be plentiful in a game where the Trevor Siemian-led Jets are expected to be trailing.
Jets Le’Veon Bell (Shoulder) Probable for Monday Night, May not be on Snap Count
Bell's recent MRI exam revealed the running back has no structural damage in his sore shoulder. After posting 92 total yards, six receptions, and a score in his first NFL action since 2017, Bell will once again be heavily relied upon, especially with QB Sam Darnold (illness) ruled out for Monday night vs. Cleveland. Bell played 100% of the offensive snaps last week and should see a similar workload, according to Coach Adam Gase.
The Jets got more good news regarding middle linebacker C.J. Mosley, who is hopeful his groin injury won’t keep him out of Monday night’s game. Mosley produced a pick-six, five tackles, and two passes defensed before leaving the game late in the third quarter vs. the Bills last week.
Sam Darnold (Illness) Out Week 2, Likely Several Weeks
Sam Darnold will miss at least Week 2 with mononucleosis. It is possible he misses several weeks with the illness. Trevor Siemian has been name the starter for the Jets until Darnold can return. Siemian last started 2017 Week 15 for the Broncos and is a low level option. He finished that season with a 12-14 TD-INT ratio while averaging 207.7 yards per game.
Paxton Lynch will miss 2-4 weeks; Trevor Siemian will start
Lynch is dealing with a high ankle sprain and he'll be sidelined for a few weeks. Siemian tossed two touchdowns in relief on Sunday and he'll look to exploit another favorable matchup this weekend against the Dolphins. Miami has given up the second-most touchdowns (22) and picked off the third-fewest passes (4) which bodes well for Siemian, who threw ten interceptions across seven starts this year.
