247Drafts.com, a division of Sports Rev Holdings Inc., is entering the industry hoping to provide a clean interface, a variety of fantasy leagues, good competition and a clean interface. They’ve also been paying attention to the late-swap discussion over the past year, offering both late and non-late swap leagues right from the start. 247Drafts has many of the features we’ve grown to love about DFS but lags behind the top sites overall. Let’s break down all of what they have to to offer.

Game Offerings

The games offered at 247Drafts are standard salary cap daily fantasy contests. Most of the action here is of the cash game variety, with H2H’s, 50/50’s and Multipliers (triple up’s) making up the vast majority of available contests. There are also nightly GPP’s which players of all bankrolls can compete in; GPP’s most frequently range from $0.25 to $27.

One very refreshing aspect of the 247 game offerings is that they allow late-swap, but only for select tournaments. For me personally, I love that you have the ability to decide between the two formats, because I might be in the minority in my view of whether or not late-swap is a good thing for the industry. When I’ve set my lineups for the night, I don’t like to have to stay up to date on player news (especially during NBA season, this just isn’t an option on late-swap sites; if one of your players is scratched and you don’t make an adjustment, say goodbye to your cash) and enjoy the time away from the computer, but you can lose an edge with that mentality in late-swap leagues. 247Drafts gives you the ability to choose whether or not you’d like the luxury of late-swap, which ends the late-swap debate and gives you full control.

247Drafts is in the small minority of sites that offer CFL contests, which is really nice for football fans who can’t wait until September for the start of the NCAAF and NFL seasons. They also offer MLB, NFL, NBA and NHL contests, so there is basically something for everyone here. Entry fees can range from free up to $530.

Main Lobby

Article Image

The main (or draft) lobby is where you’ll find all of the available contests.. 247Drafts displays tabs for 50/50’s, GPP’s, H2H’s, Multipliers, “Leagues” (3, 5, 10 man), and they also have a tab dedicated to late-swap contests. The page isn’t overly flashy, but it’s very simplistic and you’ll find your way around pretty quickly. 247Drafts also allows you to set the buy-in range on a slider right above the various contest tabs, which you can see in the screenshot above.

I’ve always been a fan of the sites that allow to you to view salaries and build a lineup before actually entering the contest, but that’s not the case on 247Drafts. You are able to view the usernames of all of the entries already enrolled in the tournament, so you can get an idea of the strength of the field before clicking “submit.”

Draft Rooms

The first thing that jumped out at me was that instead of just listing the probable starters for that day’s games, 247Drafts lobbies list all starting pitchers on an MLB roster (Jose Fernandez, who has been out for a few months due to Tommy John surgery, is at the top of the player pool). This can very easily confuse new users and is something that needs to be addressed if the casual player will have a chance to latch on with 247Drafts. Outside of that, the draft room is actually pretty nice.. it allows you to view your average remaining salary per player, and they do have a “probable lineups” tab towards the top of the draft lobby that will allow you to view confirmed lineups for that day’s games (this helps to solve the probable pitcher issue noted above, but doesn’t address the problem completely). You’re also able to easily view the tournament payouts and a site scoring tab is also a nice touch for any draft room.

Play With Friends

One of the best features at 247Drafts is their play with friends set up that makes it really easy to join games and compete with people you know. Their landing page when you select “Play with Friends” is really easy to navigate, with the available game options being shown at the top of the page. You can also share your game link on Twitter, Facebook or Reddit to connect with people you know through social media. This is shown in the screenshot below:

Rosters, Rules and Scoring

MLB Daily Fantasy at 247Drafts

The 247Drafts scoring system isn’t simple, but it provides your players with a large number of ways to score points, which keeps you invested in almost every aspect of the MLB games your tracking. Players actually recieve points (0.1) for an at-bat, but can lose points (0.25, just like with FanDuel) for an out. Pitcher scoring is relatively simple, and this is a site where you’ll want to target high-strikeout arms without having to worry about losing points for walks and hits allowed.

247Drafts is a one pitcher site which features nine total roster spots:

SP, C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF
