MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, May 2
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
squirrelpatrol: Corey Seager
headChopper: Jazz Chisholm
Dean78904: Corey Seager
ebeimfohr: Marcus Semien
Who is your favorite sneaky stack on the board and why?
squirrelpatrol: Orioles – WeatherEdge is giving a boost to home runs and runs in Baltimore with temperatures touching the 90s, and the Orioles have the righty power bats to get to Carlos Rodon. Ryan Mountcastle has a .299 ISO and .433 wOBA since the start of last season against LHP, and Adley Rutschman has a .417 wOBA vs. LHP over the same time frame.
headChopper: Yankees – I’m not usually running out to stack against Kyle Bradish, but there are major question marks here. This is his first start of the season after missing a lot of time recently without even being able to throw. So how effective will he be? And even if he is effective, I couldn’t imagine he is going to be given anywhere near a full allotment of pitches.
Dean78904: Cubs – Per DFS law, I am obligated to stack against a pitcher (Adrian Houser) who has a higher walk rate (14%) than K rate (12.3%). Dems the rules. Houser has an egregious ERA (8.37), in part due to some bad luck (.346 BABIP / 54.8 LOB%), but it is worth noting that he has been fortunate to have a minuscule 3.3% HR/FB. It is a bummer that the ballpark isn’t hitter friendly and the Cubs are without two of their biggest bats (Cody Bellinger and Seiya Suzuki), but I think that will help keep their ownership in check. There is still enough meat on the bone for at least a Cubs mini stack, with Christopher Morel, Ian Happ, Mike Tauchman, and Michael Busch being my favorite targets.
ebeimfohr: Giants – Despite a pretty terrible season to date, this lineup actually has quite a bit of upside, with Jorge Soler, Jung Hoo Lee, Michael Conforto, Mike Yastrzemski, and others. They get a big park upgrade, and it looks like no one will be rostering them, despite limited options on a small slate and them facing Josh Winckowski and the Red Sox bullpen.
