2012 RotoGrinders Player of Year: The Finalists
Update (Jan 17, 2013 – 1:41 AM:) Facebook voting has officially closed. Look for an annoucement on the Daily Fantasy Fix and in the Forums very soon as to who the 2012 POY is!
The growth of the daily fantasy industry over the past year has been tremendous as sites continue to put together amazing championship tournaments with prize pools hitting staggering totals. The time has come where we need to declare who was the best over the previous 12 months and declare someone the RotoGrinders Player of the Year. This is clearly a subjective decision, but everything from Grinder Ranking, to performances in some the industry’s largest tournaments all factor in deciding who wins the crown. The voting process will consist of votes by Cal, Cameron, Dan & Ethan. The final vote will be by RotoGrinders members on our Facebook page. Each 1st place vote will be valued at 5 points, 2nd place at 3 points, and 3rd place at 1 point. The cutoff for the Grinder member vote will be Wednesday at 7:00 pm EST. The Player of the Year will receive hotel and airfare to the RotoGrinders Vegas Kickoff Party this fall, and will get to sport this custom 2012 Trophy Avatar on RotoGrinders all year long!
RotoGrinders will also be unveiling a 2013 Player of the Year rankings soon, so keep any eye on the forums for the announcement as it’s exciting stuff! Before you can have a winner, you have to have some finalists, so the following players made the cut.

RotoGrinders Player of the Year 2012: Why Should they Win?
headChopper – Few people have been at the grind longer than Chop, but 2012 was by far the best year he has ever had playing the game. Always been known as one of the best in Daily Fantasy College Football, this year he proved his knowledge spreads far and wide. HeadChopper plays a ton of different sports on more sites than anyone else, and it is great to see this guys years of hard work pay off in a big way in 2012
DP47 – He was the only person this year to qualify for the industry’s two biggest destination tournaments on FandDuel & Draftstreet. After a solid top 10 finish in the FFFC, he followed that up with a six figure payout in the first ever DSFC. Don’t mistake him as only a tournament player as he still grinds MLB & NFL head to heads of all buy in levels, and finished 2012 as the top earner on DailyJoust. His top 5 finish in Joust’s signature event Super Joust IV was a great way to end a once in a lifetime year
DinkPiece – You probably won’t find a smarter, more well thought player than Drew “Dinkpiece” Dinkmeyer. He absolutely dominates on Draftstreet and plays in all of the highest stakes events on their site. In earning his #7 ranking on Rotogrinders, he has accumulated over a half million dollars in total winnings and proved he is not a one trick pony when he took down the $20,000 first place prize in Super Joust IV on DailyJoust.
CSURAM88 – Mr. Rams joined some incredible company in becoming FFFC Champ and padded his bankroll a good bit with a $150,000 pay day. Not like he really needed it as he has yearly winnings total over $650,000, and he has worked himself up to the #4 ranking on RotoGrinders. Desptite his great year in football, this guy might be even better in NBA, is another grinder who loves playing the high stakes.
JLowery73 – There may not be a more well rounded player than JLowery who loves to grind head to heads and those big field 50/50 tournaments at both high and low stakes. He proved on a number of occasions he can win the GPP too as he had some terrific wins against giant fields. None were bigger than the DraftDay Championship Series Main Event win where he may not have gotten the signed Playboy Playmate photo, but could buy a truckload with the $20,000 first place payout.
