CheeseIsGood's Million Dollar Musings: Tuesday, May 11th

Happy Tuesday! It is John Andy Means day in America with the DFS sites officially buying the hype that the Means family cannot be beat. Walker Buehler against Seattle is not the highest priced pitcher on the slate, no sir. It’s Mr. No Hitter himself at $11,000 on FD and $10,300 on DK. What a time to be alive!

I’ll start by saying that I don’t care one iota who throws a no-hitter. If John Means had allowed three singles in his last start, it would have been just as good of an outing. If we forget that it looks funny to see him priced so high and just look at the stats, this is what we have for the highest strikeout pitchers on this slate using 2021 stats:

John Means at NY Mets – 30.1% K, 6% BB, 1.37 ERA, 3.21 SIERA
Walker Buehler vs Seattle – 26.9% K, 1.4% BB, 3.13 ERA, 3.00 SIERA
Freddy Peralta vs St. Louis – 40.8% K, 13.1% BB, 3.38 ERA, 2.98 SIERA
Dylan Cease vs Minnesota – 32% K, 12% BB, 2.37 ERA, 3.68 SIERA
Shohei Ohtani at Houston – 35.7% K, 22.6% BB, 2.41 ERA, 4.99 SIERA
Lance McCullers vs LA Angels – 27.5% K, 13% BB, 3.58 ERA, 4.13 SIERA
