Best Ball Value Watch: Week of July 24

We’re back once again to look at recent trends in average draft position (ADP) and highlight the best and worst values currently available in Draft best ball leagues. Breaking news was the dominant force driving ADP over the past week. Let’s dig in. As always, you can follow ADP yourself using the RotoGrinders Draft ADP tool.

ADP Trends: Risers

Darren McFadden (up 19 picks to 182 Overall, RB56) – While nothing has officially changed with respect to the status of Ezekiel Elliott’s prospective suspension, the running back has not helped his image recently. The NFL is reportedly nearing the end of their investigation of Elliott’s 2016 domestic violence incident, and within the past two weeks Elliott has been implicated in a night-club fight (police have suspended their investigation into that incident) and was convicted of a misdemeanor speeding violation, which he is appealing. Elliott’s off-field troubles are starting to have an impact on fantasy ADP. McFadden, the presumed heir to Zeke’s role behind Dallas’ formidable offensive line, has jumped nearly two rounds in just one week, and will likely continue to rise until we have a decision from the NFL. Unless we hear that Elliott is suspended for closer to six games than to 2-3, I am still comfortable drafting him without a McFadden handcuff. If McFadden is still sitting there in the 15th round or later, I like him as a cheap source of early season points with a shot for more, but the buy low window may already be closed by the time you see this.
