By The Numbers for the 2026 America 250 Duels at Daytona will preview the racetrack, roster construction, past optimal lineups, core plays, tournament plays, value plays, and potential dominators.
Tonight, we head to Daytona International Speedway for the Duels. The Duels are the 2 qualifying races for the Daytona 500, and it sets positions 3-40 for the race. There are 36 NASCAR charters, which are automatically in the Daytona 500. There are 9 open cars fighting for the 4 open spots in the race. 2 spots will be rewarded to the 2 fastest qualifiers (Corey Heim and Justin Allgaier). The next 2 spots will be rewarded to the best finishing open car in each Duel race. For the first time this season, the drivers that are the fastest in qualifying won’t be racing for spots on Thursday night. They will be locked in and will just be racing for starting position in the Daytona 500. If Jimmie Johnson fails to qualify, he will be awarded a provisional and the Daytona 500 will be a 41-car field.
NASCAR DFS Picks: America 250 Duels at Daytona
Each Duel race is 60 laps, which means we have a potential of 27 fastest-lap points and 15 laps-led points on DraftKings. With more open competitive cars this season, I think there is a lot of edge in these races.
