This article previews the type of racetrack, roster construction, past optimal lineups, core plays, tournament plays, value plays, and potential dominators. This is the best place to start making decisions on your lineups.

This weekend, we head to Chicago for the Grant Park 165 on the Chicago Streets. The race is on Sunday at 4:30pm ET on NBC. The Chicago Street race is a 12-turn, 2.2-mile street track in Downtown Chicago. There is nothing like this track on the schedule, and it’s a unique type of road course. There is tire wear, tight racing, and small mistakes turn into big issues for multiple drivers. Last year, the race started on a wet track with rain. During the race, NASCAR moved the race to a 75-lap race because of darkness, which allowed drivers on a different strategy to benefit from pitting early and making it to the end of the race. Justin Haley almost won this race because of the strategy. When the track went to dry, Shane van Gisbergen was by far the fastest car on the track. I’ll be looking at recent road course data, 2024 recent speed, practice data, Chicago data, and a few other things when building lineups this weekend.

NASCAR DFS Picks: Grant Park 165

The stages are 20, 25, and 30, which is a total of 75 laps. With 75 laps, we’re looking at 33.75 potential fastest lap points and 18.75 laps led points on DraftKings. On FanDuel, we’re looking at 7.5 laps led points and 7.5 laps completed points. With only 75 laps, place differential and finishing position should be king. If anything, we will see 1-2 lap leaders that finish well in the optimal lineups. Like most road courses, I won’t be building a dominator group. I’ll build a top ten group, and I will have 0-3 on all my builds.
