This weekend we head to Iowa Speedway for the Iowa Corn 350. This will be the first time ever the Cup Series has run at Iowa, but some drivers in the field have experience here in the XFINITY Series. They’ve repaved the bottom two lanes in the corners, so it’s not the same. There was a tire test here with Keselowski, Bell, and Larson. Larson said it was a different track because it’s much hotter this weekend. They had some tire issues in the test, but nothing like they had in practice on Friday. Tire issues are a concern, and how long it will take for a second groove to come in is another concern. With no track data outside of the 50-minute practice on Friday, I’ll be using recent short-flat track data, recent 2024 speed, practice, some high-tire wear data, and a few other things when building lineups this weekend.
NASCAR DFS Picks: Iowa Corn 350
The stages are 100, 125, and 125, which is a total of 350 laps. We have some interesting stage lengths this weekend, but I think tire wear will come into play more than fuel. With 350 laps, we’re looking at 35 laps led points and 35 laps completed points. We’re looking at 157.7 potential fastest lap points and 87.5 laps led points on DraftKings. Even with potential cautions, we’re looking at over 200 potential dominator points on DraftKings.
