This weekend, we head to Phoenix Raceway for the Shriners Children’s 500. The race is Sunday at 3:30pm ET on FS1. This is the first short-flat track of the season. We also have the option and prime tire options this weekend. For the race, teams will only have two sets of the option tire. There was a 45-minute practice session on Saturday. They had one set of the prime tire and one option tire. The option tire had more early run speed, and it took 30-40 laps to start to even out. Those sets are going to be better. We saw a bunch of different agendas during practice. For my practice data, I’ll be mixing the two sets and averaging it out more than weighing one more than the other. I think cars that were fast will be fast with both sets of tires. There is going to be a lot of strategy, which adds a little more variance this weekend. I’ll be using practice data, recent Phoenix data, short-flat track data, and a few other things when building lineups this weekend.

NASCAR DFS Picks: Shriners Children’s 500

The stages are 60, 125, and 127, which is a total of 312 laps. With 312 laps, we’re looking at 31.2 laps led points and 31.2 laps completed points on FanDuel. On DraftKings, we’re looking at 140.4 fastest lap points and 78 laps led points. With 218.4 potential dominator points, we’re looking for 2-to-3 dominators on most lineups this weekend. Last spring, we had 4 dominators. Bell, Truex, Gibbs, and Reddick all led at least 50 laps and had at least 18 fastest laps.
