This weekend we head to Hampton, Georgia, for the Fr8 Racing 208. We have a doubleheader on Saturday, with the trucks at 1:30 PM ET and the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series at 5:00 PM ET. The Truck Series race is on FS1. There is no practice this week, and qualifying is Friday. Just in case you didn’t know, Atlanta Motor Speedway was changed after the final 2021 race. It went from a track with a lot of tire wear and medium banking to a new surface with a lot of banking. It’s an intermediate track that races like Daytona and Talladega. The biggest difference is that those tracks are 2.5 miles with a lot more room, whereas Atlanta is 1.5 miles with two to three lanes to run. The wrecks happen fast but don’t seem to take out as many cars as a Daytona and Talladega race. We will see a lot more single-file racing at Atlanta, and the top lane is the dominant lane.
