The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is BACK! This weekend, we head to Daytona for the Fresh From Florida 250. The race is Friday at 7:30 PM ET on FS1. Like always, we have a tight window for Truck content this weekend. Projections and projected ownership will be posted by 6:00 PM ET, and LineupHQ tags will be posted by 6:30 PM ET.
The stages are 20, 20, and 60, which is a total of 100 laps. We’re looking at 45 fastest-lap points and 25 laps-led points. After cautions, it’s closer to 55 dominator points available. With dominator points not being a factor, it’s all about place differential this weekend. The Truck race is one of my favorite races of the season. We have a lot of young drivers without any experience, and since 2018, there have been at least 7 cautions in 6 of those 7 races. Johnny Sauter won from 2nd in 2018, and Nick Sanchez won from 6th last season. The other 5 races since 2018 have been won from 10th, 11th, 23rd, 20th, and 15th.

NASCAR Truck Series DFS Picks: Fresh From Florida 250
The Truck race is always one of the most interesting races of Speedweeks, and I don’t expect that to be any different this weekend. Unlike Cup and Xfinity, it’s rare for the Trucks to have more than one driver starting inside the top 10 in the optimal lineup. Looking at the last 6 races here, 5 of those optimal lineups didn’t have any driver starting inside the top 10. When building my groups for Trucks, I like to focus on strong drivers starting outside the top 15. This seems to be the best optimal way to build lineups.
