The NFL Field Report: Week 4
The Field Report is designed to give you a look into the most popular plays from FanDuel’s Thursday Night action.
In order to truly separate your entry from the rest of the field, you need to create a very unique roster. In GPPs especially, playing along with the rest of your opponents won’t get you very far. The rules are much different in H2Hs and 50/50s, but in tournaments where you need to beat ALL of your opponents (e.g. major qualifiers), you need to take risks and use a player or two that you know will be lightly owned.
The percentages in the tables below come from the FanDuel $2 WFFC Qualifier, which has 54,290 entries. The listed players are ones that I have identified for a variety of reasons, but if you don’t see “your guy” here, post below in the comments and I will do my best to get you a percentage.
Note: This week we had some issues with our lineups and are missing some key player percentages. We are hoping to crowdsource the percentages of players who are missing from the list below. If you are in the $2 Q and have any players you would like to share just post in the comments below and we will get them added.

With the numbers we do have, it looks like only a small percentage were willing to take a chance on Drew Brees against the Cowboys or a struggling Sam Bradford facing the Redskins with a couple WR in good matchups. Not surprisingly, Aaron Rodgers comes in as the highest owned QB of the week facing the 49ers who have been very friendly to opposing offenses up to this point. At first glance, it looks like Russell Wilson is the overlooked option I like the most for GPP, sitting below 3% owned.

Karlos Williams is the play that the public is picking as a free square with LeSean McCoy unlikely to play this weekend. Both Matt Forte and Jamaal Charles living under 10% are worthy of a roster spot, with Charles making more sense in GPP coming off of a short week and with a tougher matchup. Devonta Freeman doubled his ownership from last weekend sitting at just over 11% even with his price increase, which was to be expected given the probability of the masses chasing past performance.

Two weeks in a row we have had a sub 2% player have huge games in Allen Robinson and A.J. Green. This week the most likely candidate from that group is Terrance Williams, who will have the luxury of facing Brandon Browner and the Saints defense. If you are looking for a stud who is under owned, it looks to be Odell Beckham Jr. with just a 6% ownership rate.

After Cam Newton and the Panthers finally realized that they have a legitimate target in Olsen last week, it was easy to predict he would lead the pack in a Gronk-less group this week. The spread behind Olsen is pretty much what you would expect, and there are no real eye opening numbers here from my perspective. With Dwayne Allen not sure to play this weekend, Fleener makes for a decent low-owned GPP flier considering the solid six targets he received last week in a similar situation.
