12K Challenge, Painful Wednesday Night
Well, Ill start with the end result. 2 Big fat 0’s and a 50/50 win to keep the BR from dropping even further. $15 down to $13.80 now.
My 5 man team just stunk it up, finishing in 5th place. It doesnt help that Brandon Knight, Andre Iguodala and Nicolas Batum combined for a total of 24 points. Nothing great can happen when you spend 18.9K on 3 players and get 8 points per. Managed to get a nice 44 from Kobe, Josh Smith underperformed as far as my expectations last night with 33. Pierce’s 22 really hurt too, as I was expecting a 30+ night. Jamison’s 21 for his price worked just fine. I have nothing against Pargo and his 15. I can’t expect a huge night from that price.
I made some changes to my 2K Dribbler team after posting in my blog and ended up going with a lineup of Kemba Walker, Randy Foye, Kobe Bryant, Daniel Gibson, Carmelo Anthony, Paul Pierce, Antawn Jamison, Josh Smith, Anderson Varejao. My adjustment at PG started out great by getting Walker’s 39 point effort but Foye was the ultra yuck play of the night, with 4. The team ended up with a total of 242, which didnt even place me in the top 50% unfortunately.
Now onto the one that I managed to cash, with some luck haha. I left work an hour prior to the games tipping off so I didnt get a chance to verify lineups and that almost cost me as I had Billups in. Even with his 0, I managed to pull off a cash in this 50/50 Expert matchup. Duhon’s ultra cheap salary pulled me a solid 18. Jimmy Butler didnt put up a performance like I had envisioned and he finished with just 9. Going with Duncan over Josh Smith on this team nearly cost me as the cheaper Smith would have grabbed me 3 more points than Duncan’s 30. Went with Vucevic at center over Varejao and will gladly take his 25, even with him just scoring 6 points in the game.
Overall was a rough night for me, the 50/50 was my only cash. So the challenge roll took a hit along with my personal roll, but like they say…..There’s always tomorrow!!
