12K FDP Challnege, Wednesday Night ($15 Roll to begin the night)

Well, back to the challenge. Have had a little success the last few days in some expert tournies and matchups outside of the challenge. Tonight I will be doing both challenge plays and regular bankroll matchups. I’m still relatively new to the building of a bankroll via Daily Fantasy but I’m definitely a veteran when it comes to building a roll overall, thanks to my years of online poker playing.

As of this writing, I have decided to jump into 3 $1’s for the challenge, one 50/50 Expert league, a 5 man winner take all, and then the $2K Dribbler. The first team I will try to break down will be the 5 player league.

At the guards, I’m leaning towards the combination of Brandon Knight, Jeremy Pargo, Kobe Bryant and Andre Iguodala. Pargo’s averaging 33 MPG since taking over for the injured Irving. He’s getting the court time and averaging 16.3 PPG, 2.3 REB, 3.7 AST and 1 steal, however is prone to a few turnovers. 3.7 per game to be exact. His price tag almost makes him a must start, especially when it allows me to spend bigger on the “must” haves tonight. Knight’s been playing solidly of late and even though I don’t see him exploding for 35+ tonight, I do see a consisten night for his price of 5.3K on FD. Averaging 23.6 FD points the last 5. I think he goes for 31 points tonight against Golden State. Kobe is pretty self explanatory as I see him really taking off under D’antoni even tho the team is going through some struggles. I wouldnt be shocked to see a 45+ FD point night from him against New Orleans tonight. Im not completely sold on Andre and I will be seeing what I might be able to do to upgrade that spot (even if its a cheaper alternative to open up more money)

Forward’s are Nicolas Batum, Paul Pierce, Josh Smith and Antawn Jamison. When it comes to Jamison, I can’t believe he is still so cheap and almost becomes a must start while he is in the $4k range. His last 5 games have had FD point totals of 32, 15, 48, 7 and 36. Smith has been really filling the stat sheet of late and I expect him to do so again tonight after totals of 43, 50, 25, 21 and 44 the last 5. I’m thinking something along the lines of 25-12-4-3-2 with 3 turnovers tonight (yep, thats right..48 points). Batum has been somewhat of a roller coaster lately but he has put up a couple 32+ point nights and then had a couple 20 and under nights. When it comes to Pierce, I don’t know who is going to show up but I do know that seeing $6900 next to his name got me somewhat excited (and im not sure why, I’ve always disliked the guy lol). The last 3 games he’s shooting a terrible 13-36. In those 3 games he’s averaging 28 FD points per. Just imagine once he gets his shot figured out, should definitely see a jump to 35-40 FD points.

At center I am leaning towards my favorite one in the NBA right now (sorry Noah), Anderson Varejao. This guy just continues to put up points and he still $1K cheaper than Dwight Howard. Over the last 5 games, Andy’s line has been a rediculous 18.2-18.6-3.2-0.6-1.6 and 2.4 TO’s for an average of 42 FDP/ per.

A couple of names I am considering in place of others in order to make my lineup a little more balanced: Stephen Curry, George Hill, Nate Robinson, Aaron Brooks, Gordon Hayward, J.J. Redick, Alexsey Shved, Malcolm Lee, Marco Belinelli, Carmelo Anthony, Paul George, Al-Farouq Aminu (Im dreaming he has a big game lol), Kyle Singler, Josh Howard, Tim Duncan (goes off tonight), LaMarcus Aldridge, Larry Sanders, Nikola Vucevic, Brendan Haywood.

Chris Duhon, Chauncey Billups, Kobe Bryant, Daniel Gibson, Carmelo Anthony, Jimmy Butler, Tim Duncan, Antawn Jamison and Nikola Vucevic.

I’ve had some solid success lately in the expert matchups going with a very cheap combo at PG, the most expensive SG and SF and then one of the top 3 PF (price wise). Then filling in around with guys who are getting some time due to injuries, etc. Billups is just a gut feeling tonight, as the Clips are bringing him along slowly thus far but for his price I think I can catch a hot hand and get 18-21 FD points. He is definitely subject to change in this lineup. Butler has put up 44 points over the last 3 while averaging about 26 mpg. I think he benefits the most right now from the injury to Rip. I just dont think the Cleveland bench can match the playmaking energy that Butler and Taj Gibson will bring tonight.

Jeremy Pargo, Nate Robinson, Kobe Bryant, J.J. Redick, Carmelo Anthony, Paul Pierce, Antawn Jamison, Tim Duncan and Anderson Varejao. I think of the lineups I’ve played with so far today, this might be my favorite, aside from Nate Robinson. But I feel very strongly about 40+ from Kobe, Melo, Pierce, Duncan and Varejao. I havent heard if Gasol is officially out, should he be, I can see a 28+ night from Jamison. I may switch up Redick for somebody ultra cheap that might find me a 15-20 point night and try to find a big upside PG to replace Robinson. I’d prefer to not mess with Pierce since I want to trust my gut tonight. I can also see myself dropping Duncan down to Josh Smith or even farther to Zach Randolph.

Thats all I’ve got for now. IF you like what you see, please throw me a thumbs up. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Just trying to develop my daily skills a bit more. Hopefully shortly I will be making a general play post.
