20/20 Vision - January 14, 2020
Well last night was a crazy night in NBA DFS. The Pelicans decided to not play half their roster and suddenly we have Okafor going for 55 plus fantasy points at minimum price! Then we get SGA going crazy for a 20-20-10 triple double and stealing the value away from Chris Paul. It made for an exciting early part of the slate. Yesterday I introduced my finding five plays that at the time I didn’t consider “core” plays to fit into rosters. They all did pretty decent. To review the five that I had yesterday:
Derrick Rose – He was in the mass exposure game with the Pelicans. I think Rose being the player to run back upped his exposure a bit! OT definitely helped him and he ended up with 39.8 fantasy pts. He came in at 5.7x value.
Bruce Brown – Brown was a FD only play as he was priced up over on DraftKings. He came through with 28.1 points at 4.9k for 5.7x value.
Devonte Graham – Priced at 6.6k on Fanduel, his matchup just looked to good against Portland. He ended up with 46.6 points to come in at just above 7x on his price.
Enes Kanter – Kanter’s ownership would have been much higher if it wasn’t for the Pelicans scratches. He had an average night at best with 26.8 points and 5.2 value.
CJ McCollum – he was a DK only play for me. Priced at $6,100 he made it night to run back with Devonte Graham which ended up being my most successful line up on DK. He ended up with 42 DK points to come in just under 7x.
Looking at tonight’s slate we have a game NBA slate with not a lot of consistent lower tier priced players. So I really looked at those tonight as there is not a ton of value opening up at this time with studs like James Harden, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Luka Doncic to choose from. I also like looking a mid tier players to do as I feel a lot of people will be going to the stud and scrubs approach!
Finding Five – NBA – 1/14/2020
Darius Garland – He is put a nice stretch together for Cleveland Cavaliers. He is price around $6,000 and has hit 5x at that price in 6 of his last 7 games. It is a pace up game vs the Clippers and will likely avoid Patrick Beverly defense.
Ben McLemore – He is a great value piece to stick in trying to get to the big names tonight. He is starting now for the Houston Rockets in what is likely be the highest exposure game there is. He has gotten 22+ mins in the last three games and may get a few more with Russell Westbrook sitting out the front end of the back to back.
Jaren Jackson – He is priced around 7k and is on the other end of the Houston Rockets game. I think the pace of this game runs Jonas Valanciunas off the floor leaving more rebounds and inside opportunities for Jackson here. I really like the spot he is and if a mid tier build wins a GPP tonight I think he will be a big reason for it!
PJ Tucker – Another Houston piece here. He is below 4k on each site and had 17 rebounds the last time Westbrook sat. I think some people will be scared off due to him leaving the game last time out, and I think they throw Clint Capela out there to pick up extra boards. Last time out it seemed to have the rebounds falling to Tucker and I hope it happens again.
Tristan Thompson – He has been on a tear lately! Priced at $6,900 on DK and $6,400 on Fanduel, I like him as a pivot to Montrezl Harrell who I think will garner more exposure. My favorite two games tonight are obviously Houston and Memphis and Cleveland taking on the LA Clippers.
Good luck tonight and tomorrow’s finding five I will look at the upcoming PGA event.
