5 NFL DFS Plays under 5K for Week 5

To be honest, I couldn’t really come up with a good title, and I noticed that a lot of the guys I’m considering are cheap. So here’s your five under 5K for Week 5…

If you don’t use the following players, perhaps you’ll at least leave with a bit more information. And this should point you towards who might be chalky, as yours truly tends to be a pretty chalky kind of guy…even though it seems like ownership should be spread fairly even today.

1 Nyheim Hines ($4,800) @ KC – Marlon Mack is a game-time decision, and the contention is that the Colts will be cautious with him. Stud wideout T.Y. Hilton is expected to play, so perhaps he and his 30% target share is encouraging enough to Indy to let Mack rest for a week. Anyway, game script could have pointed you towards Hines no matter what, and if Mack sits he becomes much more enticing. Truthfully, I am the least excited about Hines on this list. I just really wanted to find a running back that I liked under 5K. Hines is the best choice so far.

2 Will Fuller ($4,500) vs. ATL – Has 399 air yards (ranks 12th) despite only seeing 3 targets in Week 1. He is the No. 2 target in the Texans offense, with a 18.32% target share. The No. 3 option is Kenny Stills, who is questionable to play with hamstring and ankle injury sustained in Week 4. After that, it is Jordan Akins (11.45%) and Duke Johnson (9.16%) who might vie for targets. It is possible this is a narrow passing tree come Sunday, and Fuller is only $4,500 on DraftKings. Sure, Keke Coutee is in the mix as well, but he is still integrating into the offense after missing all of the preseason and Week 1. Fuller is an epic GPP play this week.

3 Jimmy Graham ($4,300) @ DAL – With Davante Adams sidelined on the last drive of the game in Week 4, Aaron Rodgers looked the way of Graham three times in a row at the one-yard line. Graham ended Week 4 with a season-high 9 targets, and is a safe bet for a couple of red zone looks on top of what seems like a week of solid volume. With Aaron Rodgers as your quarterback, that’s money. Dallas is middling against tight ends, but they’ve only played one quality tight end in Evan Engram, who torched them for 11-116-1 on 14 targets. In Week 4, New Orleans tight ends combined for a 6-50 line on 10 targets. At only $4,300, Graham is certainly in play.

4 KeeSean Johnson ($3,500) @ CIN – He should start for Arizona this week with Christian Kirk out and Damiere Byrd unlikely to play. He is at least in cash game consideration, along with the next guy…

5 Auden Tate ($3,500) vs. ARI – Tate will vie for opportunity with Tyler Boyd, but the absence of John Ross (IR) opens up another eight looks per game. I do not play in cash games, but this guy seems assured of a ton of popularity. He is big bodied, standing 6-5 and 227 pounds. Tate has at least five inches on every Cardinals cornerback, and outweighs them by a ton (the heaviest DB weigh 200). He could be a bully in the red zone today. Using Tate lets you jam in Christian McCaffrey, who looks like the best running back in the NFL right now.

I know Fuller has disappointed so far, but I just can’t quit him this week (when he goes off for three scores). And I’m going to be a giant sucker for Auden Tate. That means you guys should probably load up on Nuk and Tyler Boyd

Anyone got a cheap runner they love today? Seems like you’d be against the grain if you paid down there and paid up at wideout…
