BVP All Stars - 6/29
The purpose of this blog is to identify some batters in a good DFS position based upon batter versus pitcher (BVP) statistics. The primary focus here is for home runs so I will not be highlighting players without a home run versus the pitcher and I will lean towards players with multiple home runs.
Happy Friday grinders. It’s been a while since I’ve done this blog so I figured I should try and give it another go on this big Friday slate. Let’s see if BVP can help provide some details that we can find useful as we build our Friday lineups.
Here are the BVP all stars for Friday’s slate:
Matt Carpenter vs. Julio Teheran – Talk about someone who has been on an epic heater. Carpenter started off the season so poorly that people were dropping him in season long leagues. Now he seems to be crushing home runs and extra base hits every night. If you need any other reason to play Carpenter tonight BVP is that reason. Matt will cost you $4,000 on FD and $4,900 on DK. 12AB / 6H / 3XBH / 2HR / 4RBI / .500 AVG / .538 OBP / 1.083 SLG / 1.622 OPS.
Marcell Ozuna vs Julio Teheran – Ozuna gets to hit in great conditions toinght as the dew point will be in the mid 70s. The combination of good weather conditions and BVP should make Ozuna a decent option for tonight. Marcell will cost you $3,200 on FD and $3,700 on DK. 42AB / 17H / 5XBH / 3HR / 9RBI / .405 AVG / .405 OBP / .667 SLG / 1.071 OPS.
Hunter Pence vs. Patrick Corbin – Pence really hasn’t been very good this season. But on a night like tonight with big bats out there and some higher end pitching options you are going need to find some salary savers for your lineup. Pence is cheap on both FD and DK and his great BVP versus Corbin provides some promise. Hunter will cost you $2,200 on FD and $2,900 on DK. 38 AB / 15 H / 9 XBH / 4 HR / 11 RBI / .395 AVG / .452 OBP/ .868 SLG / 1.321 OPS.
Good luck grinders!
