CBB 3/3 Alley-Oop

I figured I would try this out since I am snowed in here on the East Coast. I play DK exclusively, so all these opinions relate to DK.

North Carolina: Even though Marcus Paige has been in my doghouse lately. When I use him he does produce, and when I don’t he goes bananas! But this game sets up great for the guards of North Carolina. Notre Dame is last in conference in opponent 3pt % giving up .389 %. They also are 12th in opponent 2pt %. This coupled with being @ home sets up for the perfect storm for Paige and possibly McDonald. The forwards for Carolina should like this matchup as well. Notre Dame is at the bottom of the conference in rebounding. The thing is with 4 options which one if any stands ahead of the pack. McAdoo’s price has come down but he is always a risk of foul trouble. On the other hand, J.P Tokoto’s price has risen and will the number of horses in the post for UNC is tough to snag him with that price tag. To sum it up, I will definitely be rolling out Paige, with the forwards being more a crap shoot. Meeks could be a value play here.

Notre Dame: Nobody really interests me in this matchup. Pat Connaughton makes a decent play. He averages close to 30 fps. And he is going to take 8-12 shots a game and get small reb, and assist totals. At 7200 I wouldn’t fault anyone for rolling him out. Sherman should have a tough matchup with the NC bigs.

NC State: Only player I am on here is TJ Warren. He is matchup proof and is the main option to score the ball. You will have to pay for him but could get rewarded if you do. But beware that Pitt ranks 1st in opp rebounding and 6th in opp. Pts per game in conf.

Pitt: Another game that sets up well for the home team. NC State is last in Conference in Rebounding, 14th in opp. Points per game at 72.4, and last in free throws and free throw attempts. I am rolling out Wright, and Patterson if can afford it. Zanna also make an interesting play against a weak NC State front line.

Kansas State: In this game OSU plays pretty good defense. But the extra 5-10 possessions KSU will get gives an extra bump to Marcus Foster. I believe today he is a risk/reward play @ 6500 on DK. Foster has the ability to go off for 35-40 fps. But he can also come out and not make value. So roll the dice if you are feeling lucky. Iwundu can make a value play here.

Oklahoma State: KSU is one of the top defenses in the Big 12. KSU is 2nd in opp. Points per game, 1st in opp. 3pt %, and 2nd in opp. 2pt %. That being said, I believe Smart is always in play with being able to score fps. In all categories, but is also the top salary G tonight on DK. Brown, who is the 2nd top salary G is also in play but beware of the price tag. Nash is always a foul concern, but if he can stay in the game should produce decent numbers. Nash is also cheaper and has the G/F position that sometime helps with building a lineup.

(Keep an eye on this game if the weather is going to be an issue)
Xavier: Justin Martin went berserk last game and his price has risen accordingly. I really don’t trust him fully yet and Seton Hall rebounds the ball pretty well. Matt Stainbrook had a big game last time these two met. But that was at home and with Teague in foul trouble. I don’t see that kind of performance this time out, but he still could post some good numbers. Christon is always in play and had a good game the last time as well. He is a 7000+ salary guy so you will have to pay.

Seton Hall: Edwin is always in play and I like his price tag of 6600 today. He should post 25-35 fps. Teague is a monster but this matchup is tough. If he can avoid foul trouble, which is a big if, you could have a day. But I just don’t like the matchup. Xavier is 1st in conf. in opponent rebounds and the bigs of Xavier could give him problems. Gibbs is a hit or miss guy. But has the potential to go for 30 fps. or below 10 fps. Use at your own risk.

The dreaded DK C position: Not much today. I would avoid Teague and Sherman because of match-ups. I like Ole Kalamari for value or Stainbrook for pay/value. I deep value/gamble is Vandenberg if you are trying to load the lineup with studs and need a gamble. I would advise against it today with the shallow player pool.

Good stuff, buckets! I really like the level of detail in your analysis. This is a good read for anybody who plays daily CBB on DK. Especially on a snowy Monday when information and posts pertaining to CBB are seriously lacking. I look forward to checking out your future insight…
