CBB Daily Plays: Friday, March 18th

Check out who I like for Friday’s NCAA tournament games in each price range. Good luck to everyone in Round 2 of their survivors tournaments.

Stud Plays:

Denzel Valentine (Michigan State): Valentine has been the safest play in college basketball this season. On the season he is averaging 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists per game. You have to love that he is filling up the stat sheet. Although, this game will likely be a blowout, Valentine should still hit value.

Thomas Walkup (Stephen F. Austin): Walkup is one of the best players in the country that no one knows about. Yes, I know all about Press Virginia, but Stephen F. Austin shouldn’t be rattled by it that much, they’re a veteran team. Over the last three games, Walkup is averaging 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists per game.

Other I like: Gary Payton, Buddy Hield,

Mid-Range Plays:

Scoochie Smith (Dayton): Smith is playing his best basketball of the season right now. Over his last four games he is averaging 18 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds per game. He is still way to cheap on DK.

Edmond Sumner (Xavier): Sumner is one of the best unknown freshmen in the country. He is probably coming off his best game of the season against Seton Hall. He finished with 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Other I like: JeQuan Lewis, Peter Jok, Myles Davis, Zak Irvin

Value Plays:

Stephen Thompson Jr (Oregon State): With Tres Tinkle out of the lineup, Thompson has been inserted into the starting lineup. Over his last four games, he is averaging 16 points per game. Oregon State will get a pace up in this game with VCU playing faster.

Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman(Michigan): Rahkman has played very well for the Wolverines down the stretch. He has at least 18 FD points in his last five games. He has played about 35 minutes per month over the last month or so.

Other I like: George Marshall, Sam Singer

Stud Plays:

I don’t like any high priced Forward’s on Friday’s slate, so I will give you four Mid-range plays.

Mid-Range Plays:

Jalen Jones (Texas A&M): This A&M and Green Bay is the highest scoring game on the slate by far. Jones is the Aggies best player and has battled some injuries, but he is good to go for his last NCAA tournament. He is coming off a 30 fantasy point game against Kentucky. You could also take Tyler Davis or Danuel House at this same price range.

Bonzie Colson (Notre Dame): Colson played very well in the ACC tournament. In the two games he averaged 14 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals per game. I like him in this matchup against the soft interior of the Michigan frontcourt.

Ivan Rabb (California): Rabb has been playing his best basketball of the season in March. Now with Ty Wallace out, he some get even more usage. He has gone for a double-double in three of his last four games.

Diamond Stone (Maryland): Stone has had a and up and down freshman season, but when he wants to he can dominate. He should dominate in this game as South Dakota State has no one that can matchup against him.

Other I like: Nigel Hayes, Stefan Jankovic, Jonathan Holton

Value Plays:

Aaron Brown (Saint Joseph’s): For whatever reason Brown’s price on DK hasn’t move. Brown has been very consistent over the last five games or so. During that span he is averaging 16 points and 4 rebounds per game.

Vitto Brown (Wisconsin): I don’t like too much value at the forward spot, but Brown has been playing pretty well as of late. He has gone over 20 FD points in three out his last four games.

Other I like: Duncan Robinson, VJ Beachem , Deyonta Davis, Mo Allie-Cox
