CBB DK Early Slate for Feb 28th

Well yesterday didn’t go as planned but that doesn’t mean to give up, it just means it is a good opportunity to double entries for Saturday. The 3 must plays were a bust and only Mason hit value, but I did somehow squeak into the money thanks to Trice and Humphrey in one lineup, so not a total loss. Very large slate of games tomorrow so I will spend time on certain games and value plays.

I haven’t given up on this UL offense just yet. They have looked gross without Jones but eventually we should see some good fantasy games from all of their starters.

Snider ($4500): Pitino obviously trusts him as he has averaged 37 minutes, and 11 shots/game as the PG. I would think you would choose him or Blackshear today vs FSU.

Blackshear ($4900): He still is a bit tentative on offense and I’m waiting for the 30 pt performance which will be coming eventually, and at $4900 it isn’t a lot of salary to gamble on his price.

Wright ($4600): If you want to chase points here is your option. He shot an unsustainable % last game but has been getting most of Clark’s minutes, so even against a good UGA D and on the road he should have the usage to hit value.

Mich vs MD

Trimble or Wells will be a good play today vs the inexperienced Mich guards (other than Spike). With both of them under the 8k price you can get top caliber players for under premium price.

St. Johns

Obekpa ($3900): While his upside is a lot higher on FD so is his salary. He seems over his ankle injury and is getting his minutes back that he lost because of the injury. He may not start but will play close to 30 minutes. While I’m not a big fan of him vs the tank of Smith he’s at home and could get some garbage put backs on the long shots from the main 4 scorers.

NCst vs BC

I like this game a lot as Hanlan has a potential ACC player of the year to play for as that is all BC has going. They have been competitive in games but haven’t been able to get in the W category. While he’s overpriced here he has a 30 pt floor and a 50 pt ceiling. NCst plays fast and will score on this BC team. Lacey, Barber, and Turner could light it up today.

Pinkston ($5500): If you want a cash game guy Pinkston is very consistent. 7 of the last 8 games he has been right around value, and that is where he will be at. If you are looking for a high risk/ high reward guy he’s not it, that would be Ochefu.

Miss vs LSU

I’m going to find it hard not to dump salary on this game. LSU is my favorite team outside of MN, and this game is a must win for them. A lot of players will be off Mickey today and is cheaper than Martin on DK. He’s more of a FD player, but if you want a lower usage guy with 50 pt potential look at him. Obviously Martin will be the more predictable pick and he’s been re-donk-u-less lately. He’s much more of a complete player and can play on the perimeter but Mickey is the man and might be today. I will also be using Moody and/or Summers in lineups as I like playing guards vs LSU.

Patterson ($5400): I’ve played Patterson almost every game since returning from his injury and I believe he will get open looks when the double team comes vs the M&M boys. He finally looked confident shooting from behind the 3 point line, which will be key for LSU tomorrow.

UNC vs Mia

A-Rod finally broke out of his slump and produced a great game, granted a lot of those points came at the end of the game ft’s, but those still count and this game could wind up the same way. Huge game for Miami so they will need him to play well again. If you want a double-double Jekiri is your guy. Miami will be projected for more pts than usual so targeting them will play well for you. I’ve enjoyed the Meeks run and just out of routine may take him again, but not the best matchup for the UNC bigs.

I haven’t watched any Dayton games since last years tournament run, so no write-up here for me. However, Graham from VCU seems to be underpriced. He does everything for VCU and unless the O/U is very low I will have him in most of my lineups.

But vs DPU

Wideman ($3600): I like playing players vs DePaul and Barlow’s price is going down again, but it was Wideman that had a really nice game last time out. His role is getting defined and if he gets his 25 mins again I can see another value score from him.

UNI vs WichSt

Good job DK for putting this game on the slate! I might keep the TV only on this game tomorrow to get a good idea of how both of these teams play vs good competition. There is a lot of love for Tuttle for Player of the Year honors, but one of my favorite CBB players, VanVleet, will outperform him in the actual game. However this is fantasy sports and the outcome of the score doesn’t matter. Look at the O/U and choose wisely.

Carter ($5300): High risk/high reward play here. He can play inspired and go crazy or play flat. I“m choosing inspired as he will be jacked for this one. Freddy will find him in the post and Carter will deliver! Go Shockers!

Must play values (around 5k or under)

Cash Pinkston
GPP Carter
Snider or Blackshear…flip a coin :) I’d lean Blackshear just with experience.

Good Luck
