CBB DK March 2nd slate
Saturday didn’t go as planned but Carter, Blackshear, and Snider all had decent games. Blackshear with the best out of the must play group. Pinkston was the flop and his 9 games of double figures came to an end. Sunday was much better and stacking the WSU and UCLA game went over very well! Too bad I had to throw Wesley Gordon in the mix again otherwise I would have had a top 10 finish. Today we get a nice 4 game slate and while I will most likely stack the ISU game with multiple players I will break down each game.
Vir vs Cuse
One of my favorite things is to play Cuse players since you know what you are going to get. That wasn’t the case on Saturday vs a below average Duke defense. Now they get one of the top D’s in the nation. With their salaries sky high I will go elsewhere for my salary cap. Gill has been Mr. consistent after Anderson’s injury and he can be in line for another 20 pt performance, however I’m a bit nervous with him today unless he can get some offensive rebounds. I’m most likely going to take this game off but if I wanted to spend on anyone it would be Gill for his consistency.
BU vs Tex
These teams are going in opposite directions, and Texas’ team is in shambles right now. They need to get a win, but they have a really tough matchup here. Balyor might be one of the most underrated teams. They are so big and athletic and should cause some damage later this month. I like Baylor to get the win today but someone on Texas will need to step up. Taylor has had nice games recently and I’ve enjoyed his run. He still might be underpriced even with a $900 price increase. If the game is close at the end Taylor will get a lot of quick pts in the last 4:00 mins of the game. I’m not a huge fan of Gathers today with the size UT has, but obviously he could post a double double. I’m targeting Prince and Chery here. Prince, like Gill, has been so consistent lately and I really like his game. Not sure why he comes off the bench, but it doesn’t bother his scoring mentality as he fires up a lot of shots when he’s in there. He hasn’t seen a game less than 20 since mid January so get him in there and hope for 30+ with a floor of 20.
BC vs VT
This game is terrible for an actual game but it can really be decent as far as fantasy. Hanlan might be the best guard in the nation but he’s stuck on a bad team. You will want some of him today as he poses a 30 pt floor and 50 pt ceiling. If he goes for 50 on a 4 game slate and you don’t have any of Hanlan it will be a bad evening.
Clifford ($4,800): VT doesn’t rebound well so Clifford will be able to use his size to grab some boards. His price keeps increasing but his minutes are solid.
Hill ($4000): I wish he would shoot more for the minutes he plays, but has been consistent over his last 4. I watched him vs Duke and he looked very good and I would expect him to be close to value again today.
OU vs ISU
The holy grail of the nightly slate this game will be very highly owned. With 40 more projected pts than the Virginia game this is by far the game to target tonight. OU is a bit inconsistent and slightly overpriced but try and fit a few guys in. I really wish Hield didn’t have that great game last time out. His price zipped back up well over 8k. His previous 2 duds were just bad shooting and he’s the main man for OU. ISU is harder to predict as any of 7 guys can be the high pt players. The safest are McKay and Niang but they come with the highest price too. In most lineups I will have at least 4 guys from this game and hope it hits the 150 mark.
Woodward ($5300): He is the PG for OU that is a pass first PG. His minutes are good, his assists are good, it is his pts that are a question. He shoots well from the FT line so if he can get there 6 times he should hit value in the highest O/U game of the night.
