CBB Menu Choices 3-27
What a wild first weekend in College basketball we just had! That was one of the more exciting first 2 rounds in recent memory and I think we are in for more of the same in the sweet 16/elite 8. DS is hosting another Blowout tournament that is just about half full and DK is running a big tournament as well. Be sure to get in those if you can because this is the last big weekend of college basketball. Onto the menu for Day 1 of the Sweet Sixteen.
Appetizers(Value plays, the perfect compliment to your main course.)
York is my favorite value play of the day. He has been on the court a lot during the tourney and he is producing favorable numbers each time out. If he gives Arizona an added threat of the bench the Aztecs will have little hope of winning this game. York is a great three point shooter as well which of course helps you on DK. Get him in your lineups and use the extra money for another stud.
His price has risen across the industry because of some really solid performances over the 4 games. Some will be scared off by the matchup against Arizona but he still has a very good opportunity to put up some stats. The Aztecs basically have two people that score the basketball. Xavier Thames and Dwayne Polee. 12-15 points and 3-6 rebounds is right in his wheel house and I think he will be just fine against Arizona.
Bread & Butter A La Carte(These guys make the meat of your lineup. So get filled up with these choices.)
Wilbekin is the leader of one of the favorites to win the tournament. Over the last 3 he is averaging 14ppg, 3 rpg, and 4 apg. With a floor of about 22 and a ceiling of 30+, Scottie is the perfect player for cash games and tournaments. Fading him in survivor games is not advised.
Randle just got done making Andrew Wiggins and Kansas pay for not knowing he was. He is fairly priced across the industry but produces every time he takes the court. He has played all 80 minutes of Stanfords tourney games and is a solid bet to do some damage against Dayton. His turnovers have been a little high which hurts his value on FD, but he also just set a Stanford record with 6 steals against Kansas. If his shot is falling early, Randle could be prime for a huge game.
I’ve been a big fan of Royce all season. He is a walking double double and is much more athletic than people give him credit for. Wisconsin plays great team defense but aren’t exactly individual lock down defenders. Baylor is hot right now and after the beatdown they just handed Creighton their confidence is soaring. Baylor big men have carried us this far, why jump off the money train now?
Dessert(I hope you saved room for these studs because they are well worth the menu price and should be on most of your teams.)
Gordon is the horse I will be riding to the 2nd round of the Blowout. I’m all in on Arizona guys and Gordon is my top play of the day. He is averaging a healthy 33.8 FPG on FD and is a 30-40 point threat every time he steps onto the court. The Aztecs, though great defenders have little chance of containing this NBA level talent from putting up huge numbers. Ride him to the money, folks.
There aren’t many other studs worth paying for on this slate as the sites have done a good job with pricing and I think balanced is the way to go. I think there are 2-3 obvious value plays and 1-2 studs worth paying for. As the slates get shorter and shorter you will need to hit on 90% of your roster. I hope you enjoyed todays menu and as always you can find me on Twitter @DubDeuces85 or hit me up in the comments. Good luck to everyone and may we all win some money!
