Contrarian Corner August 11th
Welcome to the Contrarian Corner. This blog will be about doing things a little differently than what most of the Rotogrinders team recommends. Anyone can look at team totals and decide to stack the team with the highest total. What I attempt to do is stack teams that will be low owned and are in great spots, despite what the Vegas team total might be. This strategy has a high level of variance. I am not aiming to cash for the minimum, I am trying to win GPP’s.
What a weird slate we had last night. I like apparently everyone else stacked the Astros. Despite the offensive out pouring it didn’t amount to that much since they were all so highly owned. The exact same thing is going to happen today. Thanks to some super cheap guys actually being in lineups today it’s easier to stack Houston than it was last night. I will have a Houston stack because I think you have to. Oddly, since Houston is going to be so popular it will make every other team in a way contrarian.
New York Yankees
Every single player is capable of hitting multiple homers in this matchup. Gary Sanchez came back yesterday and promptly hit one out. Aaron Judge is insanely cheap compared to every single Astro. For the first time ever the Yankees may be truly contrarian. If Houston only scores like six runs and the Yankees hit a bunch of homers, they could easily win you a GPP.
Los Angeles Angels
Andrew Cashner has been bad since coming over from Baltimore and the Angels exploded yesterday. If you didn’t play the early slate you might have missed it. The Boston bullpen is already taxed and frankly not good anyway. Everyone will be on Boston in this game anyway, so we have a great contrarian opportunity and a very affordable stack. Playing LA allows you to get Justin Verlander easily.
This is my plan as of right now. I’m Milo741 on all the DFS sites. Follow along on twitter @wintheweekend, as I will post my bets as well. Good luck everyone.
