Contrarian Corner August 13th
Welcome to the Contrarian Corner. This blog will be about doing things a little differently than what most of the Rotogrinders team recommends. Anyone can look at team totals and decide to stack the team with the highest total. What I attempt to do is stack teams that will be low owned and are in great spots, despite what the Vegas team total might be. This strategy has a high level of variance. I am not aiming to cash for the minimum, I am trying to win GPP’s.
Man, what could have been. I gave out the Blue Jays last night, but my pitching selections were less than stellar. I did have Bo Bichette in every lineup, but I needed more Jays all around. Hopefully, someone out there stacked the Jays and had a big night!
Tonight we have Coors on the slate again as well as Houston, Boston and the Yankees. It would almost be easier from this point on to mention that all of these teams are going to be chalky the remainder of the season. If you add in the two Coors teams that is five of the thirty teams already removed from contrarian consideration. Although, you could argue Coors may end up being contrarian tonight, but I digress.
Los Angeles Angels
Yes, the Pirates won yesterday, so all the more reason to attack them today. They are now 5-24 since the break. This feels like a nice late night hammer spot for the Angels. Last night the Angels made a few errors early that allowed the Pirates to get up. Tonight will be different and the Angels bats will get to face the Pirates bullpen.
St. Louis Cardinals
Glenn Sparkman is pitching for the Royals tonight and he has been horrid. Perhaps the visit with the Pirates this weekend helped get the cards bats going. The Cardinals are very cheap and can be stacked with almost any pitching combination you want. I’m sure I will screw it up again! I’ll call a Paul Goldschmidt homer tonight.
This is my plan as this morning. I’m Milo741 on all the DFS sites. Follow along on twitter @wintheweekend, as I will post my bets as well. Good luck everyone!
