Contrarian Corner August 15th
Welcome to the Contrarian Corner. This blog will be about doing things a little differently than what most of the Rotogrinders team recommends. Anyone can look at team totals and decide to stack the team with the highest total. What I attempt to do is stack teams that will be low owned and are in great spots, despite what the Vegas team total might be. This strategy has a high level of variance. I am not aiming to cash for the minimum, I am trying to win GPP’s.
I am headed to a wedding this weekend and have about seventeen different events that I am committed to attend. This of course starts with an early tee time tomorrow. I will try to post and get these blogs up the next few days, but if I disappear I am attending the wedding of the year out of town. In all honesty, I am really looking forward to this wedding. I am curious what it is like to attend a wedding with your children as my kids are in the wedding as am I. I assume it will be a different experience than other weddings I have been to.
Until the wedding we have a slate to dissect. In what seems like a weirder small slate, the Minnesota Twins appear to be the chalk. After the Twins a good argument can be made for a number of teams. I think I am only paying up for one pitching spot, so I can pay for one of the more expensive stacks out there. I am going to mention two stacks here and one is going to be semi-popular, the other I believe will be completely contrarian.
New York Yankees
I know, they have to be popular right? If people are saying to build your Draft Kings lineups with two higher-priced pitchers, you can’t stack the Yankees almost at all. I like splitting up the pitching and paying up for a Yankees stack. Gary Sanchez has been on fire since he came back.
Chicago White Sox
Chicago just lit up the scoreboard against the Astros for what felt like the entire series. I should know, I bet Houston a few times and lost. Andrew Heaney is priced up for this game and the Angels just gave up runs to the Pirates the last few days. Maybe I am crazy since the White Sox are not very good, but this is a great contrarian spot where no one will play them. I will say James McCann hits a homer for Chicago!
This is my plan as this morning. I’m Milo741 on all the DFS sites. Follow along on twitter @wintheweekend, as I will post my bets as well. Good luck everyone!
