Contrarian Corner August 28th

Welcome to the Contrarian Corner. This blog will be about doing things a little differently than what most of the Rotogrinders team recommends. Anyone can look at team totals and decide to stack the team with the highest total. What I attempt to do is stack teams that will be low owned and are in great spots, despite what the Vegas team total might be. This strategy has a high level of variance. I am not aiming to cash for the minimum, I am trying to win GPP’s.

Coors lived up to the hype last night and I was able to cash, but barely. It was not a super successful night, but any night in the positive is a good night in my mind.
Coors remains on the slate tonight, but there are some other very chalky options as well. Besides both teams in Coors and a few other teams, have team totals near, or above six runs. The Nationals are at home against the Baltimore Orioles. The Minnesota Twins are at the Chicago White Sox. Both these teams will also be chalky, as people will try to build lineups using one of great pitching options on this slate. As I continue to try to be contrarian, I am going to avoid all high-priced pitching options. I am going right back to the Red Sox. I am going to try to make that fit and play a contrarian stack as well.

Cleveland Indians
Jordan Zimmerman is not good and the Indians seem to finally be consistently scoring runs at a high clip. I never get Cleveland correct, so I expect this to go horribly wrong as well.

Sandy Alcantara
At $6,800 on Draft Kings I wish he was a little bit cheaper. However, if I am going to stack up Boston again, I need some cheaper pitcher options. Alcantara has scored at least 11 Draft Kings points in his last four starts including two great performances against Atlanta. I have been attacking Cincinnati at times and will do so again here.

Aaron Civale
The Detroit Tigers have a team total that is barely four runs and Cleveland will score runs tonight. At just $7,000 Civale does not have to do that much to be affective, but allowing me to stack Boston is the key here.

Jakob Junis
Junis has had some nice games this season but appears to be headed the wrong direction. Despite that, he is cheap enough that I am considering him tonight. I want to do whatever I can, to stack against Peter Lambert and Junis is another option to get me there. I plan to mix and match these cheap guys and wish they were all a little cheaper, but I cannot fix that now. I hope everyone else plays a stud pitcher and cannot get in a full Boston stack.

This is my plan as of right now. I am Milo741 on all the DFS sites. Follow along on twitter @wintheweekend, as I will post my bets as well. Good luck everyone.
