Contrarian Corner July 19th
Welcome to the Contrarian Corner. This blog will be about doing things a little differently than what most of the Rotogrinders team recommends. Anyone can look at team totals and decide to stack the team with the highest total. What I attempt to do is stack teams that will be low owned and are in great spots, despite what the Vegas team total might be. This strategy has a high level of variance. I am not aiming to cash for the minimum, I am trying to win GPP’s.
Sadly, this post was late and I don’t have the time to recap yesterday. I am traveling and headed out of town for the weekend. Today’s night slate is full except for one early game. There are three clear chalk stacks that will garner a large majority of ownership: New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, and the Cleveland Indians. I will be completely avoiding all three of them. In terms of some contrarian teams I have two that I am targeting.
I have been betting the overs in Pirate home games. I have been targeting the Pirates against right-handed pitchers. I have been stacking against Jake Arrieta. This is what we call a perfect storm. Everything I have been attacking is colliding in the same game. Better yet, the Pirates will be very low owned. Give me some Adam Frazier, Some Josh Bell and of course some Colin Moran.
The other key component to this entire thing is Jordan Lyles. I have been betting the over against Lyles in Pirates games as well. Oh, did I mention it is very hot in Pittsburgh? How many ways can I recommend this game? Bet the over. Stack the game. Stack both teams. These are two low-owned teams that are going to erupt.
This is my plan as of right now. I’m Milo741 on all the DFS sites. Follow along on twitter @wintheweekend, as I will post my bets as well. Good luck everyone!
