Contrarian Corner July 27th
Welcome to the Contrarian Corner. This blog will be about doing things a little differently than what most of the Rotogrinders team recommends. Anyone can look at team totals and decide to stack the team with the highest total. What I attempt to do is stack teams that will be low owned and are in great spots, despite what the Vegas team total might be. This strategy has a high level of variance. I am not aiming to cash for the minimum, I am trying to win GPP’s.
I decided to take the early slate off and do some family things. Didn’t even really look at this night slate until much later in the day than normal.
This night slate seems fun. We have some obvious chalk, Ivan Nova and some fun contrarian options.
Tonight that chalk appears to be more of the same: Reds, Indians and the Twins. Wait, what? The Reds? That’s not more of the same. The reds are second to last in runs scored this year. Guess who is last? The twins get Ivan Nova
And should be the mega-chalk. I wonder despite the team total how many people believe in the Reds tonight?
In terms of contrarian there are a few teams I have my eye on.
This Phillies get Max Fried who they cooked up the last time they faced each other. It’s hot on the East Coast and this is a great ballpark for some offense tonight. Bet the over too! May bet Bryce Harper homers.
New York Mets
The pirates are done. The worst part is the pirates also know they are done. Trades are coming soon, just a matter of who.
For the 15th consecutive slate I wanted to list the Angels too, but I think they will gain traction and possible be chalky as well. They still don’t have a line on the game as of this writing.
This is my plan as this morning. I’m Milo741 on all the DFS sites. Follow along on twitter @wintheweekend, as I will post my bets as well. Good luck everyone.
