Contrarian Corner The Open Championship
Welcome to the Contrarian Corner. This blog will be about doing things a little differently than what most of the Rotogrinders team recommends. Anyone can look at team totals and decide to stack the team with the highest total. What I attempt to do is stack teams that will be low owned and are in great spots, despite what the Vegas team total might be. This strategy has a high level of variance. I am not aiming to cash for the minimum, I am trying to win GPP’s.
But wait what sport is this for? Golf? Ohhh Yes, I’m taking a chance here to label some potentially low owned plays that I like for The Open Championship.
Have I researched my plays for tomorrow, of course I have. I want to point out I have bet on the following players to win as well. Go big or go home right? If I’m gonna be right, I want to be really right in every way. These are some dart throws and be aware of that.
Without further ado…
Ryan Fox 6.7K Draft Kings Fox has made the cut twice in his three times playing in the Open Championship. If the weather is bad, some low owned players will be more valuable. I bet Fox to win at +50000. Yes, a $5 bet would win $2500.
Graeme McDowell 7.9K Draft Kings This is his home course and he has played there a ton. I’m shocked he hasn’t gained more traction, but his recent form is bad. Like a massive favorite in college football a week before playing their rivals, McDowell was looking ahead. I bet him to win at +8000.
Eddie Pepperell 7.6K Draft Kings I love the Euro’s this week. I have him at +8000 to win the Open Championship.
Erik van Rooyen 7.1K Draft Kings Finished 17th last year and seems to play well in tougher conditions. I have him at +10000 to win the Open Championship.
This is my core for The Open Championship! If they do well, so will I. Hopefully, I pair them
With the correct higher priced plays!
