Daily Fantasy Golf: Deutsche Bank Championship Projections

Last week I had to brag about my projections a little bit and I’m sorry to have to do this to you again, but you are going to have to listen to me brag about my projections once again. The projections have really provided a good tool to find value and last week it really paid off. Not only were the picks that I recommended good, but they were good enough to win just about every GPP on DraftStreet. Here’s a quick recap of the picks:

Last Week’s Picks

adam scott

Bill Haas – $16,051 – Very respectable finish for Haas at -4 which was good enough for 25th place.

Bubba Watson – $14,971 – For his price, he was great value, he shot a -7 which was good enough for 13th.

Jordan Spieth – $16,069 – The youngster keeps playing well with a -5 finish.

Matt Jones – $12,230 – Another guy that had great value last week, very nice -3 finish.

Adam Scott – $25,131 – Winner winner, big come from behind victory on Sunday to win the Barclays, finished -11.

Rickie Fowler – $15,190 – His Sunday orange didn’t help him, but he still had a great week with a -8.

Now, if you haven’t been paying attention to the projections, maybe the last few weeks give the projections a little bit of credibility. We are going to try to take last week’s success and keep on trucking this week at the Deutsche Bank Championship which is week 2 of the FedEx Cup.

Quick recap of the projections, I use three different criteria in these projections. First, is the player’s odds to win the tournament. Vegas knows what they are doing and I think the odds provide a great basis for the players each week. Next up is the % of cuts made, in daily fantasy golf having your guys make the cut is crucial to your success. Finally, the last criteria is how many top ten finishes each player has. Using these three as a guide, I came up with a total player rating for each player that ranks from 1-100 with 100 being the highest rank.

Deutsche Bank PGA Picks 2013

Zach Johnson – $17,199 – I think Johnson is a must play this week. He took the week off last week and is coming into the event with 5 straight top 10 finishes. He is playing great and he isn’t very expensive.

Jordan Spieth – $16,134 – The youngster is playing some great golf right now. A lot of people are waiting for him to crumble under the FedEx Cup pressure but I just don’t see it happening. He has 3 top tens in his last 7 events and should easily make the cut.

Rickie Fowler – $15,819 – Fowler came into the FedEx Cup saying that he was playing the best golf of his life. A -8 finish last week backed that up. He should easily make the cut and hopefully make some noise this week.

Matt Kuchar – $18,752 – Kuchar had one of the worst Sundays ever after being tied for the lead after 3 rounds. Kuch is not a guy that crumbles under pressure, he has been here before and I expect him to bounce back this week.

Harris English – $13,139 – This is my wildcard pick. English didn’t make the cut last week, but had 3 top 15 finishes in his previous 4 events. He is going to have to play well to keep playing in the FedEx Cup and I think he does just that.

Jason Day – $18,951 – Day just hasn’t been able to put good rounds together, maybe it’s those bright pink pants. He’s expensive this week, but a good pick with a great chance to win it.
