Daily Joust Week 13 College Fantasy Football: Turkey Day Special
Well, here we are folks. By the time you reading this you should have your belly full of turkey and creating some genius left over creations with all that food in the fridge. It’s also that time of the year where college football is winding down, but not without leaving us with some killer action the next couple of weeks. It cranks up on Thursday night with Texas vs. TCU and carries over to a full slate of games on Friday and then Saturday.
Now I don’t know about you, but there is nothing better in my household than sitting around stuffing that leftover turkey in my pie hole all day Friday with college football games cranked up on the high def. TV. Knowing that this is just the tip of the iceberg to a seriously swamped football weekend. My old man used to have a saying that applies here. He used to say “It’s like a sore d*ck….you just can’t beat it”. That’s how I feel about this weekend- You just can’t beat it. So with that little nugget of wisdom, let’s take a look at where my money is going on Joust this weekend.

Player Selection Reasoning
Braxton Miller – I love a good running QB in this format. Miller has been quiet for a couple weeks now it’s time to explode
Joseph Randle – On the surface the Sooners have a tough defense but throw all that out the window. They can be beat via the ground and in this rivalry game all bets are off
Jeff Scott – Look for a great game in this grudge match with Mississippi State. I think they will be feeding Jeff Scott all day in this one.
Tavarres King -King has been balling lately with all the WR injuries for the Bulldogs. Another intense grudge match in this one but Georgia Tech has no answer for King
Tevin Reese – When teams take away Terrance Williams then someone has to step up. That someone is almost always Tevin. Texas Tech will take away something here and I think it will be Williams. That leaves Reese in line for a big game.
Deonta Greenbery – Weird pick I know. Here’s why this guy is playable though. He caught a TD last week. He is getting more involved in the offense. He was one of the most highly recruited WR’s coming out of high school this year. Every game with UH is a possible probable shoot out
Colt Lyerla – Lyerla’s numbers are so deceiving because Chip Kelly really only wants to use this guy when they absolutely have to. I can tell you this- the Ducks will need him this weekend, Oregon State is no joke.
Notre Dame – This was the last pick on my team and I had enough to take a TK that plays good defense and should be able to get the ball in the red zone before stalling out. Great combination for success at this position.
USC Trojans -Going out on a limb here, but I think this game plays out with Notre Dame settling on FG’s instead of TD’s. I know the Irish are good, but I am not sold on their offense. There is nothing more intimidating for a defense than to have to run the gauntlet in the PAC 12 vs those offenses. The Trojans should get one look at this one dimensional ND offense and think they died and went to heaven. I am playing them this week!!
Well, that is about all I can muster up for you this weekend. I had to roll myself into the computer room just to write this thing. I don’t know if I still fit in the doorway after all this food so far. I feel like one of those 600 lb. people on Oprah who can’t even leave their house anymore. But really though, I cannot emphasize how fun this time of year is. Please take advantage because in a few weeks it will be history for 2012. Next week puts a wrap on the regular season for NCAA so this stuff doesn’t last forever. Man that makes me sad just thinking about it. I need to drown my sorrow with more turkey leftovers. Choppa say there’s turkey sandwich, there’s turkey-kabobs, turkey creole, turkey gumbo. Turkey fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There’s pineapple turkey, lemon turkey, coconut turkey, pepper turkey, turkey soup, turkey stew, turkey salad…
