Dan's Dosage: December 14, 2019
How’s it going everyone? It is that time again to break out the books for a new night of some NBA action and we open it up with a nice seven game slate tonight with some value and studs that I wanted to talk about. Each time I do this article/blog I am going to review who I talked about last and if things went good or bad. So let’s get into this NBA slate and see what we got tonight
$9,000 and Above Standout: Bradley Beal ($10,700)
Getting started today, I am going with Bradley Beal. For the stud sections I am going to try to stay $9,000 and above based on FanDuel salaries. There is a problem with this play, and that is that we need his shot to be falling. On the other hand, he is playing a horrible Memphis team who plays no defense and plays at a fast pace. Both teams rank in the top ten in terms of fastest pace in the league, so that means this game will be up and down the court non-stop. The last time Beal played in an environment like this was against Houston, and we remember what happened in that game. Beal is in for another big game if he can get his shot to fall and keep that usage rate above thirty percent like he has done over his last few games.
Honorable Mention: James Harden ($12,400)
$7,000-$8,900 Standouts: Jonas Valanciunas ($7,500)
Starting off this mid-tier range is the big man from Memphis, Jonas Valanciunas. Jonas hasn’t been playing up to standards over his last four games, but I see that coming to an end tonight. The Wizards are absolutely garbage in terms of rebounding. They rank dead last in the league with a 46% rebound rate. While Memphis isn’t too far ahead of them, Valanciunas is averaging close to ten rebounds per game. If we look at his last match-up with a team who is in the bottom five of rebound rate, he was able to snag 13 rebounds and put up 32 real-life points against Chicago recently. He has shown a ceiling of well over 50 FanDuel points, but only if he can eclipse that 30 minute mark, which he will need to do at this price tag to achieve value tonight.
Eric Bledsoe ($7,200)
The Bucks are hosting Cleveland tonight, and I see this as a prime spot for Eric Bledsoe to put up some good numbers. These teams have played twice already this season, so we can look back and see that he played well once and not so good the most recent time. There is one key difference between these two games though, the shot attempts. First time out he put up 16 shots, but in his most recent game he only shot the ball SIX times. I don’t see him taking that low shot amount again, so look for him to put up his usual 10+ shots and he will hit value and then some in no time.
Honorable Mention: Kyle Lowry ($8,700)
$6,900 and Below Standouts: Ian Mahinmi ($4,400)
I feel like I have just been talking about this Memphis and Washington game the whole time, but it’s hard not to. Mahinmi will be very chalky tomorrow against the Memphis team who is also allowing big games to big men as they are allowing close to 55 FanDuel points per game to the center position. Mahinmi will be the only available center for the Wizards tomorrow, and he will soak up as many minutes as he can with both Thomas Bryant and Moritz Wagner out. At $4,400, he will definitely be the cash play at center for today’s slate.
Norman Powell ($4,900)
This last play is only considerable IF Fred VanVleet is out of this game. When VanVleet was out last game, Powell slid into the starting lineup and had a decent game. Norman is someone who likes to chuck the ball when he is starting, as we can see by looking at his game logs from his past times starting. He puts up at least 11 shots when he starts and even gets up to 16 and 18 shots sometimes. Another plus to him if VanVleet is out, he sees a nice usage over 20 percent and should see at least 32-35 minutes. He will also be a cash play for me if he is starting and VanVleet is out.
That will do it for me guys. I am going to start putting out this blog every other day and see how it goes. Let me know in the comments if there is anything I can work on or add to this next time. Good luck to everyone tonight!
